Impressive. I am so grateful to be pain free thanks to Mr Anthony Ghosh.I ultimately required spinal surgery and was reassured throughout by Mr Ghosh. His undoubted expertise was matched by his kindness and thoughtfulness as he explained everything succinctly and with all the time in the world for me.I must also say the staff at Chelsfield Park were wonderful and made my stay comfortable and almost enjoyable due to their caring and friendly approach. I was offered several consultants to choose from by my insurance company-all very qualified and decided to make an appointment with Mr Ghosh based on his blog, which stated that his aim is to find the least invasive way to deal with each condition. I can confirm that is definitely his passion. It is early days in my treatment but Mr Ghosh has gone to great lengths to help me to understand my condition, to reassure me, to put my condition into perspective and to help me to understand the potential treatments. Downstream, should surgery become necessary I would have no hesitation in entrusting this to Mr Ghosh.

Initially I was very impressed with Anthony Ghosh, he seemed to have an alternative approach, looked closely at daily habits, posture etc.. The only moan, I was left waiting for quite some time on both occasions and sitting in a waiting room with back pain isn't ideal. I know that sometimes it cannot be helped but letting us know would be greatly appreciated. The second appointment felt rushed and not a great deal was explained as to what would happen next and I thought Dr Ghosh would be providing treatment, however I was referred to another specialist. I was recommended to have spinal injections which I had yesterday, I wait to see if there are any results from this (nothing so far). I have to say reception and the staff who provided the support yesterday for the injections were impeccable, I highly recommend Chelsfield Park Hospital.

What we liked especially, you were straight to the point and you didn't suggest to us any other unnecessary treatments. We agreed that physio therapy was a good way forward.

Every consultation was started at least 20 mins late, at least one was 40 mintes late then they always felt rushed. After initial treatment not working there was no options discussed just recommended surgery, when I said I didn’t want that and wanted to explore other options I got told - “don’t believe what you read on the internet, is not that bad” - I only got a referral to see an osteopath becauseI asked / pushed for it. This review relates to the specialist not the hospital ! The hospital and staff have always been great !

I have been attending Chelsfield Park on and off for 30 years. regarding treatment to my knees. I recently consulted with Mr Gosh in relation to spinal issues I have been experiencing. Having had an MRI scan and X-rays we jointly determined that an operation to ease the pressure on my lower spinal canal was the way to proceed. This is being scheduled for later in the summer.Mr Gosh is an extremely pleasant person who took great care in listening to my issues and explaining fully the best options available in my case. His approach has given me the the confidence to move forward.

I had an MRI scan and saw Mr Ghosh afterwards and he explained the results very carefully . We discussed the treatment required and his recommendations for future care of my problem.I found Mr Ghosh at all times very professional ,caring and calm whilst dealing with me. I was seen very quickly by Mr Ghosh who was very reassuring during my consultation and recommended a plan to address my back pain. He also took the time to answer questions I had on my neck pain. The whole experience so far has been a positive one. His secretary, Nikki, has also been very helpful and highly efficient. Thank you.

This is a long review, but the treatment and care received from Mr Ghosh is worthy of a five-minute read!After months of struggling with increasing pain and apathetic care from another neurosurgeon, I read Mr Gsosh’s reviews which immediately encouraged me to book a consultation.On meeting him, I was struck by his pleasant demeanour and professionalism which instantly put me at ease, and following a comprehensive examination and further imaging, he established the underlying cause of my pain, severe foraminal stenosis impinging the exiting L2 nerve with grade1 spondylolisthesis. We discussed the various conservative measures previously tried, and as a PT I understood the significance of core stabilisation amongst other therapeutic approaches, all of which had been unsuccessful in managing the pain. He explained the surgical options and we agreed to proceed with interbody fusion of L2/3 through a minimally invasive technique.On the morning of my operation at Chelsfield Park, Mr Ghosh explained the procedure again and told me that he would check in on me when he’d finished operating, which I found very reassuring.Not only did he check in on me that day, but each day I remained in hospital and was always at the end of the phone if/when a complication arose. The surgery itself was a success and although I was not prepared for the level of pain on waking, he and the whole nursing team at Chelsfield Park were amazing.Following my discharge, I experienced some additional nerve pain, so emailed his secretary Nikki, who again broke the mould by being approachable, helpful and efficient. I was stunned to receive a call from Mr Ghosh on a Saturday evening, apologising for not calling sooner! Again, he was incredibly understanding and kind, providing further advice on how to manage both the pain and my expectations. The first couple of weeks were tough, but within a month I was back at work and even managed a walking holiday! Six months on, I am fully functional and participating in all aspects of physical exercise, even able to perform the more challenging yoga poses.I’m aware I may sound evangelical about Mr Ghosh, but can attest to his skill, professionalism, humility and empathy; all of which, in my opinion, make him an outstanding surgeon.

I have known Mr Ghosh for over 3 years now over the period I have had sciatica initially in my right leg and then my left leg. Originally the sciatica disappeared so I declined his services. It came back after two years and I had a small back op in December 2022 from which I bounced back immediately and had 4 wonderful pain free months before it reappeared in April 2023 but this time in both legs.A nerve block failed but an operation in August 2023 has rid me of sciatica. The operation outcome was initially very difficult but Mr Ghosh very supportive and now seven weeks on I am very positive.
