Tim is a great teacher with a really relaxed and friendly approach. He offers lots of different ideas and techniques to help you improve, as well as possessing an amazing and varied knowledge of music to help with further listening. Tim continued to teach in difficult circumstances through the lockdown period through Zoom lessons which allowed me to to continue to learn and play. It’s been a great year and a half working through some of the drum grades- thanks Tim!!

Impossible to fault Tim - My son has maintained his interest in the drums and made great progress - even over lock-down and teaching over Zoom due entirely to Tim's friendly approach, encouragement and enthusiasm.

Tim has taught my son for the past 7 years and is an absolutely fantastic teacher / drummer / communicator. Seeing my son progress during that time has been amazing as he has gone through his grades, improved his technique and still just loves playing. During the whole time Tim has been encouraging, flexible, supportive and set goals whilst still retaining the fact that playing the drums is of course great fun! When the lockdown started Tim was able to quickly port his lessons over to Zoom and it made such a difference to my son's outlook, giving him a weekly dose of positivity" and carry on doing what he enjoys. Iv been learning from Tim for just over a year. He is very patient which as an older learner, who is stuck in their ways, with little free time to practise, is a feat.I enjoy learning the drums as a therapeutic hobby, and Tim is a wonderful teacher.

Tim has been teaching me for nearly 3 years. He is very patient, informative and supportive and clearly has a passion for the drum kit, which shows in his enthusiastic approach to teaching. If you don’t understand something, he is resourceful at finding different ways of explaining it so you do understand. He is adaptable and equally good teaching children or adults; those with lots of experience and those with very little (and in my case, those with a substantial musical background in other instruments but zero experience on drums!). His positive attitude is infectious (despite my best efforts to be negative!) which has you leaving a lesson feeling good, like you’ve really achieved something. Tim came highly recommended to me from a friend and making the first step to contact him was one of the best things I’ve done. A good teacher is so important – I was getting nowhere trying to teach myself from books – there is just no comparison and Tim is a great example of the right kind of teacher who will improve your playing whilst making it an enjoyable learning experience.

Tim has been teaching my son for about 12 months. My son absolutely loves his lessons....Tim exudes enthusiasm and encouragement. We were personally recommended to use Tim to teach my son. He is making great progress and is so enjoying drumming, largely due to Tim's teaching. When seeking to purchase some drumming equipment Tim went above and beyond in offering advice and guidance, which was greatly appreciated.

In the 8 years he taught me, Tim inspired an obsession with drums and music that led me to pursue music as a career. He explains technique clearly and has an amazing sense of groove, guiding me from Grade 3 to a Level 6 Diploma in Drum Kit Performance. He is ambitious for his students and knows how to reach their potential. A lovely guy that I can’t recommend enough for drummers at any level!

I have used Tim as my tutor now for a few years. I liked him instantly as he taught me the way I wanted to be taught and not the other way round. This has led me to advance in my skills whilst totally enjoying each session. Not only has he taught me to play but also advise me on my kit, ancillaries and help set up all the new bits I keep buying. I've also watched Tim at a few of his gigs and he can walk-the-walk for sure. If you want to progress at playing drums with total ease then Tim is definitely the man you should be calling.

My son has been taught by Tim for just over a year now and has developed massively, not just in his drumming ability, but also in confidence and mood, as he loves to be able to learn to play the songs and genre of music he likes. He was very pleased that Tim continued with online lessons throughout lockdown, and even sat his first drum exam during this time, achieving a merit, and is now well progressed in working towards the next level. Very highly recommended.
