Rheidol Riding Centre

I have been here riding with family on a trek as a group and also taken my daughter for private lessons and half day learning which includes a bit of everything to get to know how to ride and maintaining a healthy horse and clean stables. The one on one teachers were all very good and had experience that they had gained from years of working in the industry. Even though slightly stern I think this was merely to ensure the safety of pupils when it is taken seriously it is better than a lapse in procedure which could result in a fatal accident so I think this was just and they are still friendly and good with children and taught my daughter things she had wanted to but never had chance too as they took her wishes into consideration and included this within the lessons. They were very flexible too on calling for a appointment and have shoes and hats for riders who do not available to hire at a small cost. On your first visit leave time to fill out a form before riding and putting on your riding boots etc . There is parking and the stables has many different size horses which are all used to riders and are lovely animals that seem to be very well kept too. They had all equipment and the stables are set in beautiful countryside we went on a lovely ride with breathtaking views like nowhere else I guarantee it is a excellent day out and well worth a one of visit or regular lessons with a indoor and outdoor arena and experienced teachers it is all that you could ask of a riding school for beginners to experienced there is something for everyone and a lot of fun for a day out in the beautiful welsh countryside

I didnt feel the horses were in a good state and worried about their welfare - was given a large whip and told to give my horse a good hard hit & told to repeat this to make her move! We were taken up an extremely steep hill, turned around at the top and came back down again. Really steep sleeper steps were cut into the hillside and the horses struggled with these. On returning they were tethered back into stalls (with water) but their girths were not loosened. An uncomfortable experience and not happy about the welfare conditions.

Brilliant instructors, well behaved horses and stunning scenery. We were a group of beginners, age ranging from 5 to 40s and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I have ridden here for years - a stables genuinely for all abilities. Well looked after, fit horses who are versatile for any activity! Knowledgeable instructors (especially Iola) and really supportive when competing here. Rides out are beautiful, given the nature of the Mid Wales landscape it obviously involves some decent hills and slopes!

A beautiful riding centre, ready to accommodate riders of every level, discipline, head shape and shoe size. Not only do Rheidol house a great selection of quiet, friendly ponies for beginners, but also an impressive range of talented, intelligent horses for experienced riders. We booked an advanced lesson, and had some of the most fun we've experienced in years of riding horses. An absolute must for any rider who wants to see what West Wales has to offer.

Had 2 x hour hacks with my daughter and the ladys that took us out where fabulous we really enjoyed

Fantastic riding school. The staff make the children feel so welcome, regardless of if they are newbies or locals having lessons. Best to book well in advance at high peak times and school holidays as they get full very quick.
