Calstock Boatyard

Wonderful facility for the thirsty rambler! We arrived by train from Plymouth and strolled along the river bank on our way to Cothelle House. We enjoyed a coffee and slice of cake, I even finished our visit with a lolly from the well stocked freezer. Prices are displayed clearly and the contactless payment system is ideal for customers not carrying cash. A wonderful addition to this unspoilt Valley.

I think this is a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee and cake and relax by the river. Various cakes and snacks and assortment of teas and coffees and cold drinks to choose. A friendly quirky place to take rest.

Self service honesty cafe. Delicious cakes. Fresh coffee. Card/ contactless payment or cash. Toilets. Craft shop some times. Lovely views of the river and boatyard.

Think really highly of this place.. everything you could possibly want in the drinks and light refreshment line... help yourself with an honesty box. Great homemade cakes too and so reasonably priced. Table by the river too.. superb. Our dog dragged us in twice on same day.

Great service from Luke. Had a problem with my lifting keel. Luke hauled us out. Freed the rusted in keel and relaunched us quickly. Spent 2 lovely days here on a buoy belonging to the yard. It's got a lovely view and an amazing honesty cafè with the best cakes I have ever tasted for a small price! Will definitely be returning

There's a lovely walk that takes you from Cotehele house car park, past the Quay, along the river, past the boat yard, under the viaduct and to the centre of Calstock village... Alternatively you can park in the Calstock car park and walk to Cotehele house... There's a good local pub called the Tamar that serves a nice lunch and local beers, it even had Red stripe beer on tap, which pleased me, as I've spent nearly 40 years in Jamaica. The views of the tidal river are always changing with kayakers or rowing boats a regular sight.
