The Geeks provided me with an excellent service. I posted my failed hard drives to them which they investigated for me and gave me a quotation for the work to recover my lost images. They then worked diligently to retrieve as many images as they could for me, delivering a level of service I would hope for but not usually receive. They gave me regular updates, provided all the lost data they possibly could and then sent back the drives to me when they had explored every possible route to rescue my lost photos. I’m grateful for all of their diligent effort and professionalism. I’d highly recommend.

I asked The Geeks to see if they could do anything with an external hard drive that was completely unresponsive. I had previously taken it to another company which has advised that it was dead and beyond repair but Dan and his colleagues got it spinning again and recovered almost all the data, and most importantly all of the valuable stuff.The results were better than I had expected and the price was very reasonable. I was particularly impressed with the quality of communication: clarity on what they proposed to do to tackle the problem, honesty about prospects for recovery and regular updates on progress, all in an understandable and friendly manner.I would not hesitate in recommending this company.

I had an old hard drive, with all the baby photos of my youngest and my early photography work as I was setting up a new business. The hard drive failed and I was told leading companies would charge me around £600 just to look at it, more than likely any repair would have to be done in a static free environment with no guarantees of getting anything back, so I held onto t it for 5 years in the hope something would change. Then I saw a recommendation for The Geeks from a friend of mine. I didn’t hesitate in sending my drive off for them to look at with a no fee if they were unable to do anything. My external hard drive just stopped working one day. One minute I was using it, the next it lost connection and never regained it.The first company we contacted said that it was unlikely any data could be retrieved - he said once an external hard drive fails, that's it. Not much they can do. He did offer to break open the case and see if they could do anything, but I declined.All my photos and some important business records were on the failed hard drive. We did some internet research on data recovery experts and came across the Geeks, local to us. Their reviews were good, their prices fair, so we decided to trust them with the hard drive.From the start, Dan's communication was excellent. Quick to respond and with a tone and style to his messages that is reassuring and inspires confidence that all will be ok.He assessed the damage to the drive and gave us a quote for data recovery, a figure which I thought very fair for the work he was about to do for us.Dan kept us informed of progress and provided us with the structure of the files he had recovered so that we could confirm it looked correct before billing.He successfully recovered 100% of the data, copying it onto a new hard drive that we provided and also returning the old faulty one (which hadn't been broken apart!)I'm absolutely delighted. Dan was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. I dropped off the package in the parcel box at his house and within 24 hours he had located the issue and began to work his magic in recovering my data. He was informative with superb communication throughout the process, keeping me posted on what he was doing and that he could 100% recover my photos and data. He gave advice on what hard drive to get next and even saved me some cash finding an equivalent HDD from the one I asked him to purchase and invoice me for. The Geeks were amazing. My broken external Hard Drive was delivered to them at 1pm. By early evening they had pretty much recovered everything. The very next day, yes the very next day, my data was sent back to me. Almost 100% of 15 years worth of family photos recovered. I'm so relieved and happy!At every single point of the process they kept in touch, even after business hours, with what they had done, were going to do, the likely outcome and also the total cost. I cannot fault their service. The price was very competitive and put larger companies to shame.If you need data recovered, use The Geeks. There is no better alternative!

My hard disk gave up the ghost a few months ago, and I hadn't bothered to back it up. There was nothing critical on it, but a few things that I would quite like to have back.Internet searches revealed that restoring data was possible, but expensive and fraught with problems: once they've got your equipment they can effectively hold you to ransom. They could charge you anything they want: we would not know any better, and if your data is irreplaceable a lot of people would pay up anyway.The first few companies I looked at didn't say what sort of charges were involved, and some wanted payment in advance.I came across The Geeks Tech of Droitwich by chance, and they were clear about costs: £140 for data recovery if the heads don't need replacing, but more expensive if the unit required physical repair. There is no charge if they are unsuccessful, and they didn't require money upfront.At initial contact I explained that if it was going to be more than £140 I wouldn't bother. They said to send the disc for assessment, and they would not proceed on any repairs without my permission.It turned out that the disc could be copied at a very slow rate, which would take a couple of days, but could be done for the £140 I'd agreed to.The job was done satisfactorily, and contact was informative and helpful. I'd be happy to recommend this company.

But from my first contact with The Geeks, I was treated like a valued client, and provided with a totally professional service for rapid, effective and affordable data recovery. From a badly corrupted and worn external hard drive, The Geeks were able to recover over 98% of all data in just a few days, and kept me in the loop all the time, advising me of the recovery process and the progress.
