The Fox House
I have been visiting the Fox House for my whole life and have generally had a good experience throughout.Unfortunately last night I had a very disappointing time, staff were all really nice but there was a mistake in nearly every order that came to the table and service was very slow. Communication between staff and kitchen was clearly not working effectively.Food was fine but the festive menu is a bit over priced, particularly a £3 supplement for scallops which turned out to be a fish pie. Desert came on cold plates and mains were clearly rushed and undercooked.It's a great location and the rooms are all fantastic but there are definitely areas for improvement in the future. Staff did compensate the final bill for some of the mistakes that were made so this was greatly appreciated.

The Fox House
The staff at the Fox are exceptional, friendly and pleasant. The room was large but, the bed a little too firm for our liking. Everywhere was lovely we really enjoyed it. The breakfast was good and we ate in the restaurant 1 night which was also good. The location is great just on the out skirt of beautiful Hathersage. We would definitely stay again . We'll done The Fox

The staff are really nice and helpful quick service and lovely food. Rooms are lovely and it is quite and peaceful and overall the best hotel/ pub in Sheffield. Ryan even managed to find batteries for the fairy lights and nice waiter funny aswell.

Always a warm welcome. Great restaurant service thanks to Ryan and Adrian. Excellent food quality, beautifully presented. Staff are attentive, friendly, and accomodating. As a repeat customer I'm rarely disappointed.

What a huge disappointment! After reading the reviews I thought this would be a gem... unfortunately not. Staff were miserable, only 2 of the waitresses were able to crack a smile, the meet and greet person was so automated she could have been a robot, and again, could raise a smile. The food, when it came, was well below average: pizza was made on a pre bought pizza base and was tough as old boots. Could have got better from Tesco's back to basic range. The pie was ok but the mash and veg were tepid and had been sat in a heat lamp so long the potato had crusted. The chicken wrapped in bacon was acceptable but again, the sauce had a skin on it from sitting under a lamp, the chips were over done and veg was cold. Other people were complaining of food being cold too. In addition, the place was freezing! We won't be returning any time soon.

The Fox House
It was our first time at the fox house last weekend but definitely nit the last one. The chicken pie was delicious, the steak cooked perfectly and the staff were super friendly. I would like to mention Juniper especially as she made our visit even better. Thank you guys.

Very good service from the staff at the restaurant who were friendly and prompt. However, the food was overpriced and very disappointing. The vegetable wrap (>£10) was pretty much a carbon copy of a basic Tesco meal deal wrap. The Mac and cheese, beef brisket and fish and chips were all mediocre but also over priced.

Service was fantastic, we were given blankets for our cold wet friend that was a nice touch. The pub is lovely inside and the food was incredible. Most importantly the beer selection was perfection.
