Beware!!!! Not for someone hoping to have a peaceful mind……Very disappointing!!!Had purchased and brought laminate flooring for nearly £1500 and ensured it was compatible with electric underfloor heating as advertised. We had used expert Specialist in our area who had installed in almost all our friends houses. They installed at 2 levels- ground floor with electric underfloor heating and first floor without any underfloor heating. After installation, the floor started making creaking noise when stepped upon both ground and first floors. The installer was surprised as hadnt observed anything like this before. We thought it would settle down after sometime but never it did. The installer wanted to ensure we are happy so he wanted to redo one of the rooms and see if it works. Accordingly he re-did one entire room following all the rules to the dot and again the same issue re-occurred almost immediately. This is when we realised that there is some issue with the product. We paid a good amount of money and are now left with flooring that squeaks the moment anyone’s feet touched the floor. We got in touch with the Customer care and had sent already 20-30 emails just explaining the scenario we are in as they ask only one question at a time and the questions never end. After 30 emails, finally we were given the questionnaire to fill and upon sending the filled form across, they started asking some more additional questions again. Finally they couldnt find anything and suggested a payment of £180 for the distress it caused, which felt condescending to say the least. Upon insisting further, they gave 2 options - take £180 or accept inspection by indepenedent specialist. The inspection specialist had provided the outcome after more than 4 weeks and couldnt find any fault with the installation either. Since we have taken this option, now the customer care says that there is nothing much to do from their end and been repeating their standard response again and again. After 3-4 months of never ending interactions with their customer care dept, there doesnt seem to be any resolution. Almost most of my friends had taken material from B&Q and they never faced any issues.Avoid at all costs if you prefer peace of mind…

**UPDATE**Since Cerys-Lea got in touch, the service I've received has been brilliant. She spent time liaising between DWF and the manufacturer of the flooring to understand what could have caused the issue.Even after the manufacturer said that the product was not faulty, Cerys-Lea came back to me with an offer to provide new flooring for the whole of my living room free of charge. I picked out a type of flooring from their range that we have used before with no issues and it arrived the same week. Can't thank Cerys-Lea enough for her help with this and for such a great resolution. Due to her service, I would now buy with them again in future.-----------------------------I ordered around 20m2 of Vintage Chateau Herringbone laminate flooring from their store in Bristol. Not knowing anything about flooring, I followed their guidance on what underlay to purchase and also used the fitter that they recommended. The flooring arrived on time and was stored in the correct way to ensure it was acclimatised before installation. When their recommended fitter started laying it there were issues straight away with it cracking and popping. Again not knowing anything about flooring we assumed this would subside once the floor was finished and had some time to settle. We were wrong and now are stuck with an expensive floor which cracks and pops loudly every time you walk over it. It honestly sounds like walking over dry twigs and sticks in a forest. The fitter blames the product and has said that he knows others who have had issues with it. Direct Wood Flooring blames the fitter and have tried to find any technical excuse to show that the installation was incorrect. They even said that the expansion gap was too large and causing the noise. This doesn't make much sense since the issues occurred immediately and the floor didn't have any time to expand and contract first. Meanwhile we're stuck in the middle with an expensive floor which not only sounds horrendous but will probably break apart in a few years time.I've since looked up the installation manual from the floor manufacturer and can see that the underlay Direct Wood Flooring recommended did not actually have a high enough compression rating for the floor I chose, so is likely the problem.I wouldn't recommend Direct Wood Flooring to anyone as once they have your money they couldn't care less about helping you. I'm not bad at DIY so I genuinely think I would've been better off doing my own research, buying the floor elsewhere and laying it myself.

Good store. The store is laid out well and clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, when I was approached. Prices were good, I didn't buy anything on this visit but will come back now I have an idea of what I want.Plenty of flooring choice available.Lots of flooring items on display so you can get a look and feel of what they supply.

Very Disappointing experience.Company was recommended to us as we were doing big new kitchen project. We have ordered advertised Evocore vinyl floor for over £1080, then ordered additional underlay from same maker as been advised its required at the cost of £400.All was fitted and lasted 2 weeks. Gaps started to show all over the floor and floor started to raise in certain areas. It was last summer 2022 when it was done.We have contacted the company immediately as this floor comes with LIFETIME WARRANTY apparently....Long story short we are now 10 months later and this was never addressed by the company. Floor is moving all around, several pieces are deformed due to heat from last summer. There was never any mention this can not be used in UK SUMMER temperatures. If this is sold in UK it should last the climate. Company blamed us and the fitters from day one and never took any responsibility for faulty floor. The colour we have used has been discontinued so we can't even buy and replace some of the damaged panels now.£1500 floor looks like 20 years old cheap vinyl in £32k kitchen.Absolutely disappointed with lack of support, lack of help or ideas how to solve it, generally we have had no help whatsoever from the company. Also all their email replies goes to Spam folder. Very hard to communicate. We should go with BQ floor for half price and I'm sure it would be much better experience.Update :Company contacted us after we left the review here. Offered whooping £150 compensation to have us satisfied and if we can remove the review …. No thanks , keep you £150 and we keep the review.

We were really happy with the service in store, quality of the flooring and the sales aftercare that we received from Direct Wood Flooring. Other shops that we had approached in Bristol had advised a 2 / 3 week lead time which wasn't great for us. We didn't know about this store until a friend mentioned it. We were able to agree a discount, had our floor delivered just 48 hours later, and when I returned two boxes (excess) it was collected from our house for free and the refund went back onto the card we paid with. We went for an engineered oak Herringbone floor with the gold Timberlay Underlay and are really pleased with it.

Direct Wood Flooring
Terrible. Don't ever try to return anything. Appalling returns policy which is against Distance Selling Regulations. Charging £60 to return £70 worth of goods (unused) and no option to return using your own delivery service or to return to a store. Shocking
