Big Severn Adventure

I've paddled many rivers both in England and abroad. Our four day trip down the Severn beat all expectations. We got on the river at Shrewsbury, had three delightful overnight stops at hotels and B&Bs in Cound, Ironbridge and Bridgnorth finishing at Upper Arley. We paddled every morning, stopped at various points to swim and reached our destination by midday so the rest of the time could be spent sightseeing. The Severn is beautiful, so unspoilt and teeming with wildlife: Swans, herons, egrets, kingfishers, wagtails, ducks and geese. Rebecca organised the trip very well and Nigel provided the information and support for our journey. This is my best canoe trip ever, I cannot recommend it enough. The river is also very suitable for adventurous souls with no paddling experience.

Just had an amazing 5 days canoeing and camping down the river Severn organised by this company. Information provided beforehand was comprehensive and lots of help given to plan the trip ( distances to travel each day, where to stay). Very tailored to individual needs and desires. The trip itself was an experience to remember and I’d highly recommend it. You experience the unspoilt beauty of the river without a soul around . Get into a peaceful rhythm and just enjoy spotting kingfishers, herons and dragon flies. Our boat had a tracker device and our organiser, Nigel, was available by phone if needed. We felt safe and supported throughout the trip. Good value too for such a unique experience.

We took on the Severn challenge with Big Severn Adventure in May. Over 7 days, staying at B&Bs, pubs and hotels, we had a fantastic experience. Thanks go to Nigel and Rebecca for all their help. We wholeheartedly recommend them.

To celebrate a birthday we asked for a bespoke three day trip. Not having been in a canoe for a couple of decades it needed to be measured! Everything was sorted and great care taken over the accommodation, number of paddling miles, where we would eat and things we could do along the way. An idyllic three days on the Severn between Shrewsbury to Bridgenorth - most of the time we had it all to ourselves which was brilliant. Many thanks - we will be back!
