Thank You so much to the MRI department who attended to my Mother inlaw, a special thank you to the radiologists Nusrat and Claudi who were very caring towards my mother inlaw. She suffers from anxiety and struggled a lot with the MRI. She was very happy with the service and care she received from these two ladies. Exceptionally pleased after my visit today.Thank you once again.

I am a wheelchair user due to a spinal cord injury. I recently visited the day surgery unit for a toe fusion procedure. I had also been to the unit three months ago for a bladder botox injection. The nurses and doctors provided excellent care. However, I faced an issue when trying to use the toilet. The bins were not accessible for wheelchair users, as they required foot function to open the lid. There was no alternative for people without functional legs. I had raised this accessibility concern three months ago, but it hadn't been addressed when I visited the ward again last week. I would greatly appreciate your attention to this accessibility matter for wheelchair users.

I've just finished my mental health placement here at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. It was a really insightful experience that I truly valued. The psychiatry team were really friendly, always including me in their plans and asking for my opinion, as well as always treating their patients with the best possible care. I truly recommend this hospital for students as well as patients.

I had appointments for 3 MRI's and 1 CT guided injection in one day. The whole experience was made easier by the excellent/friendly staff throughout the day; being the receptionists, portaridge, catering and of course not forgetting the medical team. All of these people made my day easier and not so frightening. The hospital building as a whole is tired but being upgraded; this hasn't affected the amazing staff who are so positive - Thank you

My daughter underwent surgery (Radiotherapy Ablation) she is seven years old and she has been in a lot of pain leading up to the surgery, which took around 3months to be organised and a slot to have become available for my daughter. I received a letter to attend the day surgery unit, I attended what I thought was the day surgery unit and was told I was in the wrong place. To cut a long story short, I was sent on a wild goose chase around the hospital at 6:30 am in the morning and didn't find the department that I was originally in and told to go elsewhere an hour later. I am quite upset regarding the lack of communication from the staff nurses and keeping myself informed regarding what would be the process. We weren't shown around the ward until later on that day. Finally, my daughter had her surgery which went smoothly, and I can't thank the MRI/CT radiology department staff enough. The amazing recovery nurses and anaesthetists took great care of my daughter. I was very upset because my daughter was screaming frantically I could hear her on my way to collect her, but one of the nurses had her in her arms comforting her, which I cannot thank her enough for. As for empathy or compassion, I'm quite shocked how, following my daughter's surgery, she was screaming for three hours nonstop on the ward and not one nurse, support staff or anyone else came to check if we were okay and offer some support. We had to find a nurse to ask her for pain relief. At that point, I went to ask. I saw the nurses sitting around the desk playing music and dancing (I do not have an issue with this and think it great), but when you can hear my daughter screaming from the other side of the ward, did it not occur to you to come and check to see if she was ok or if we needed anything. Reassurance anything? Even her named nurse didn't come and ask how the procedure went. I'm shocked, really!!! There is much more negatives I could write about but I will be discussing these with PALS.

Hospital appointments can often be stressful especially in this time of pandemic but not my visit to the RNOH today. The hospital was astonishingly peaceful, set in beautiful surroundings. The staff were kind, helpful and friendly and the consultant I saw was exceptional. Parking for patients was free and the attendant was great. I was even offered a ride in a buggy(?) up to the main entrance. After the consultation I took advantage of the sunny weather to walk a few yards past the car park and watch cows being cows in the field next door. My consultation had become a day in the countryside! I even took some pics.
