I've been practising yoga with James for eight years now because his classes give me the perfect balance of strength-building movement and mind-building meditation. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend James' classes and retreats to anyone, especially if you ever feel a bit wonky of body or brain.

I attend a hatha class at Iffley Church Hall and can't recommend it highly enough if you are looking for a meditative, meaningful practice. After trying a few classes I am really happy to have found this class with James. It feels a really safe space and a gentle, powerful escape from the melee of daily life.

James is a teacher of rare skill and total authenticity. There is a degree of physical rigour in his classes but to the end of bringing body and mind together rather than for physical fitness. Go to these classes if you want to access your deepest self and learn how to live in the world in a more relaxed and contented way.

For the past six years, I have been attending Restfulbeing/James’s yoga classes in Iffley Village Hall, and a few retreats, residential and non-residential.James is a wise and talented yoga teacher. The depth of his knowledge of the history, philosophy, and spirituality of yoga is profound. I trust his classes are well thought out with specific goals. The teaching style is such that most times I felt the classes were specially designed just for me, meeting all my relaxing, stretching, strengthening and balancing needs physically; as well as grounding and quietening my mind. – and I know for a fact that all I have learned will stay with me for my life and benefiting me and those around me in many ways.If you’re considering taking a class, going on a retreat, or just to talk to someone, trust me, Restfulbeing/James is the best!

Practicing yoga with James/Restful Being for the last two years has changed my life. It has given me tools to help me undo layers of stress which (tend to) wrap my everyday self, and to find a deeper connection with my body. James' work is physical and spiritual at the same time, and he is a wonderful teacher. I could not recommend his classes more.
