We had a lovely experience paddling from Abingdon on one of the hottest days of the year. The staff at AV boats could not have been more friendly and helpful. From booking to parking to instructions the process was very straightforward and went smoothly which meant we had a wonderful day. Would highly recommend and plan to return with friends

First experience of hiring a boat from this company and I have given them a 5 star review due to the fact we had such a great family day out on their boat. I cannot recommend highly that you give it a try, the customer service was brilliant, from taking the booking to setting us sail on the day. Thank you AV Boats for making our trip one to remember. We will be back!

Wonderful experience!Celebrated here my 10yo's birthday with his friends. They went for the giant paddle board, then kayaks after that (you can mix and match equipment, just ask the staff) and they had the best of times.Top marks for customer satisfaction, the AV Boats team were absolutely focused on the children having a great time. Absolutely recommended.

My family and our friends meet every year and end up taking boats out, by now most have their own but we are still renting. This year we rented from AV and could not have had a more pleasant experience.We were warmly welcomed and despite booking a row boat ahead of time were allowed to check out the other available boats (there are a lot of options) before choosing a kayak which was made ready while we paid. The business is based near the centre of Abingdon and we were well briefed on directions to places we might like to see whilst rowing and swimming. There was space to change and we were allowed to leave bags safely in the office whilst we went out.My friends, who had not booked a rental, were allowed to launch with us from AVs jetty and Andre took our photo for us which he kindly emailed later that week. The river was easy going and we had been told there was no rush to return which allowed plenty of opportunity for fun on the water.When we arrived back we were all helped ashore and offered a warm shower including clean towels.Abingdon itself is a lovely town and seems to attract tourists, but I had expected this would mean a business like this with a prime location would be transactional and rushed (we were a few minutes later than recommended). In fact it was quite the opposite, it appears to be family run and the gentlemen who helped us wanted nothing but to ensure we had a pleasant mornings rowing. I highly recommend this business and it's services.

Making the most of the last day of the school holidays. The team at AV Boats were as helpful as always and made our impromptu outing very easy. We hadn’t booked ahead, but that was no problem: there was a great choice of equipment including life jackets and they were kind enough to safely store our belongings. It’s not the first time we’ve used AV Boats and we will definitely be going back again and again.

Such an incredible experience! 100% recommend these guys. We were just passing and decided to try it out and ended up having the best day ever after a pub lunch! Two amazing guys have run this place and make you feel so at ease. They even offered to take these high quality photos free of charge. Amazing boats and even more amazing guys running it :) If you’re in Abingdon area, really recommend paying them a visit

The staff were very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. We didn’t feel rushed in any way and there was a relaxing vibe throughout the whole experience. The staff provided us with great advice of where to go to get the most out of our time there. A wonderful experience that we would happily go back to and again in the same or another kayak/boat.

We had a fantastic Time! The team was so welcoming, accommodating and fun! what a fun crew!They lend us props to dress up like pirates ,which was such fun for our boys.The boat was immaculate, beautifully designed and easy to maneuver.We would go again at some point for sure.Thank you AV boats Abingdon Crew!

A brilliant experience, which we did for a child-friendly hen do for our little bridesmaids. Really friendly, easy going staff. Started our time from when we got on the water. We had a great experience despite the rain; we cuddled up in blankets and the boat is fully covered. The route was fully explained and 2 hours was perfect. Will hire from here again.
