Velosport Cycling Club Putney

Friendly and inclusive South-West London cycling club. Sunday cake rides, mid-week laps in the summer and club socials through the year. Great club.

Very friendly club that works for riders of all abilities. The fast group has some seriously quick guys but is respectful off all abilities. If you want a friendly club where you can progress without being shouted at because of your lack of chaingang discipline/technique, this is where your home!

Love this club! Friendly and professional at the same time. You can be a semi-pro racer to someone who just wants to ride with like-minded people. Sunday rides are brilliant, designed based on ability with no drops. Always room for challenging yourself if you want to improve or have specific personal goals. I also love the summer Wednesday evening Richmond Park laps, again in groups of similar ability. Highly recommend it, if you live anywhere in London, or Surrey.

An amazing cycling club to be part of...I started cycling to work and then decided to join the club in 2019. I have had an amazing time doing various events with the club. Great bunch of people; very active and supportive. I have been out on a few intro rides where you can get a taster of how the rides are the support you get etc. 100% recommended if you are looking to join the a club in and around the Putney are.

I joined Velosport Cycling Club right after lockdown as I finally got tired of chasing random men around Richmond Park and wanted to see if I could improve my cycling and achieve my goal of racing by joining a local cycling club in Putney.I applied through their website and initially got invited down to one of their Sunday intro rides which was a super chilled group ride out to Surrey Hills giving me a chance to meet a few members and see how I found the group as a whole. I have to admit I was a little nervous before heading down but everyone was nice and friendly and the whole process of trying out and getting involved was really easy.It's a great little club with something for most levels. As always, a club is what you make it though having been a member now for almost 2 years I'm proud to have improved greatly as a cyclist, currently joining the fast group regularly most Sundays as well as hitting Richmond Park for their squad laps every Wednesday evening. As well as making new friends it also gave me the confidence to try out racing currently competing regularly on the local crit scene trying to channel my inner Cav!I definitely recommend joining the club whatever your goals as it's a great way of getting out, active and social in Putney making new friends whilst keeping healthy at the same time.

If you're new to cycling, or if you're Lance Armstrong (!), there's a group of riders to join at your pace - Wednesday evening laps of Richmond Park, and/or Sunday morning rides out of town - we look forward to riding with you!

Great club with a very social atmosphere. Suits all levels of cyclist.

Great, friendly cycling club in the Putney area with members from surrounding area. Regular club rides on Sunday morning with other rides during the week and plenty of social activities with a diverse member community.

A nice cycling club, with friendly people, organising rides on Sundays and proposing tracks that I would not find on my own.There is a great solidarity between riders.I quickly found people of the same level to ride with. Very happy.

A friendly inclusive club hosting a range of events and rides during the week (like Saturday/Sunday club rides, summer RP laps) . Members take part in various events and sportives throughout the year. A great way to meet and ride with like minded people.
