First Step Designs

First Step Designs completed the design and installation of a new metal, glass, and wood staircase in our remodelled home. The result is an elegant and beautiful staircase that fits into a non-square entry gallery between our old and new portions of the house. They delivered on time during a pandemic and resolved some tricky design problems as well. Their costs were favourable as compared to bids from EU manufactures and the quality is first rate. Their use of a 3d model was particularly effective in helping achieve a look that was exactly what was desired.

We have been delighted with the service given to us by First Step Design from initial contact to fitting of our new staircase. We found all members of staff polite, helpful and professional.Gareth helped us to bring our expectations for it to fruition with advice and help with our existing problems. We kept First Step Design fully informed of our progress with our preparations and they met all their promises and timings.Gareth also added reassurance of continuity by accompanying the fitters, Josh and Jim, on the first day of installation, although, in retrospect we need not have worried as Josh and Jim were obviously thoroughly competent and a joy to have in our home.The resulting oak stairs with glass balustrades is stunning and all we wished of it which is very important in our open-plan home, where it is visible from every area. The clunky, ranch-style staircase we had has been replaced by an elegant, well designed , well fitting feature. We would not hesitate to recommend this company.

From the moment he started work I knew that he would accept nothing but the best. He checked all of the material before any of it was installed. The design and planning was very efficient and undertaken by Nathaniel who designed the renovation around our requests.The installation team of Chris and Simon were very good and their attention to detail enabled the installation to be completed with a very professional finish,First Step Designs were excellent form start to finish .The professional approach by everyone at First Step Designs led by Nathaniel has given our house a new lease of life!We are now waiting for a new carpet to be laid down and this will hopefully enhance the project further.

Totally professional from start to finish. Gareth visited us to run through the designs and finishes available and explained the process in every detail to make sure our choices were right without the normal salesmen pushy patter one would normally expect.
