The Postnatal Doula

Grace was the unintrusive calm that swept in with her Mary Poppins bag during those first hazy days of excitement yet shear exhaustion. I’d highly recommend considering a doula and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grace.

We decided to invest in some virtual postnatal doula sessions with Grace for after the birth of our second child to provide the support we felt we didn’t have after the birth of our first son.Grace was fabulous, supportive, encouraging, reassuring; our personal cheerleader, shoulder to cry on & ally when we needed it.I chatted with Grace weekly, and had many (many) what’s app chats too. In our chats we’d discuss what was happening with me, baby & my toddler. These sessions gave me time to check in with myself, process how I was feeling & get things off my chest, as well as think about how to move through tricky moments and celebrate the wins!Grace also offered practical signposting support when needed. When we were struggling with feeding Grace sent details of local lactation consultants so we didn’t have too for example, taking the weight off our shoulders.Grace was always there when I needed, and we also did some relaxation sessions too, which really helped with settling into feeding, bonding with baby & chilling out.I’d completely recommend investing in Grace’s expertise & experience. Knowing you’ve got someone unbiased and knowledgeable to discuss things with provided a safety net for those first tumultuous weeks.

Grace has helped us so much during this postpartum period. She’s a fabulous cook and has made us the most delicious vegan meals. Our home is far less chaotic since Grace started coming and we are so grateful for that! She’s so open and easy to talk to, which is just what you need at this time in life. We wish she could stay all day long as she brings such a lovely warmth and happiness into our home. Thank you Grace!

Grace was my post natal doula for my first born, 3 years ago. She was such an amazing support at such a crazy time! I still remember her visits so fondly. My partner was working long hours and it really made such a difference knowing she was there when I need some reassurance, signposting to reliable resources, a quick shower, or practical help like getting on top of some chores so I could focus more on my baby. She would come at the end of the day and was great company, she really helped stave off feelings of social isolation. She really did take a lot of stress out of those first few weeks, helping my partner and I adjust to being parents and enjoying our baby girl. Thank you Grace, we are so happy you were a part of our journey!

Grace has been a wonderful support to me over the last few weeks of my fourth trimester. We’ve had a couple of virtual sessions on Zoom which were a safe and open space for me to talk about whatever I needed to. Grace is a fantastic listener, cheerleader and wisdom giver!
