I started my journey with DJ Gym, in 2019. Having played for nearly 15 years I had been a competent DJ but wanted to improve. It wasn't till I took my intermediate and advanced courses with Marc that I knew just how much I could improve.These courses are designed to teach you in a step by step way to not only understand all of the latest equipment available to you as a DJ but also utilise them, not as live mixing equipment but as a musical instrument enabling you to manipulate tracks and mix in a way that you thought you only could ever see on an Instagram reel from a world renowned DJ. As a teacher Marc is second to none. Patient, knowledgable and enthusiastic. I cannot recommend him enough.On completion of your courses you will be put into an LSA alumni group. Which is where the real fun begins! Supported by the London Sound Academy team I have played at Ministry Of Sound, Egg London, Horse & Groom and of course took part in the Ibiza 2023 tour. Completing that tour supporting Chase & Status. I have had great experiences at DJ Gym. So far I have had three tutors and all of them have been friendly and knowledgeable, they have given me loads of information and demonstrations to help me progress my skills.Well worth a visit if you feel that you are ready to take that extra step and open yourself up to professional scrutiny.

Recently completed all 3 DJ lessons with Marc Spence. He is an amazing tutor, explains everything so clearly. I went from using controllers to club standard decks in no time. Highly recommend

Over the past 12 months I've progressed from the Beginner course to the Advanced. Marc Spence is an amazing tutor & individual, loads of patience & can explain the technical aspects really well. Lessons are well balanced & in my opinion very reasonably priced for 1-2-1 tuition with a professional DJ & equipment.

Before I started the lessons at DJ Gym I had no idea what I was doing, after just two lessons (in the space of a week) under Jahmai’s tuition I’ve learned more than I reckon I would’ve in 6 months or so on my own… there’s a lot on YouTube, but there’s also a lot that isn’t on YouTube either! I had some issues at home between the two lessons (setting hot cues on streamed songs from beatport rather than ones I had downloaded, meaning I couldn’t export the edited tracks on to the USB for the CDJ’s) but within minutes Jahmai had me playing those songs despite my mistake. I couldn’t recommend this place more if I tried :)

The Beginners DJ course was the best thing I’ve done this year. I have always wanted to learn how to mix but self doubt and anxiety put me off. Learning with Marc was fantastic, he put me at ease right away and it felt like I was learning from a good mate instead of a teacher. We went at my own pace and after the first session I was totally hooked and eventually ended up buying my own DDJ to practice at home.Last weekend I ‘debuted’ in front of my DJ mates and they were so impressed with my skills. I can’t thank Marc and DJ Gym enough for the brilliant experience!

DJ Gym is awesome. I'm taking lessons with Marc and not only does he know his stuff on the decks, he creates a really relaxed and welcoming environment to practice in. I was a complete newbie and really nervous that my dream to learn to DJ was just a pipe dream but he's given me the confidence to get out there and do it! Everyone I've interacted with in the team is great too. Buster gets back to you with admin questions super quick and overall there is a great vibe about the place. If you're on the fence, jump off and go for it!

I have been learning to DJ here for just over two years. The teaching is excellent and I have progressed from a complete beginner to intermediate. I have played a few times at a bar.Marc is a very helpful and understanding tutor. We have covered lots of things including how to set up the equipment, filters and effects and mixing in key. Lessons are very enjoyable.

Great tutoring, you go through it fast but get lots of practice and technical theory. Really enjoying the course and learning how to play the music I love creatively
