The two Paulines and their team dealt with my Mums funeral. They did a brilliant job...handled everything and i felt they really took the time and trouble to understand my Mum and my family.Their care and consideration will never be forgotten during this terribly difficult time.

My mum was cared for with dignity. The funeral process was discussed with us and all of our requests were honoured. The service was beautiful we would sincerely like to thank Pauline, Carol, Tina and Lee for all their support and respect during this very hard time for us

Caused us a lot of extra stress at an already traumatic time. We had to change to another funeral directors 4 days before my Father's funeral.Initial meeting was ok. No private room to talk to bereaved families, we were in a busy office. We were prepared to overlook that. There was no customer toilet, they send people to the pub across the road.Pauline 1 took details, she was sympathetic in manner at first. We discussed whether to have a celebrant. She suggested that we didnt need one. I was ok with doing the service ourselves but my family wanted to discuss it. She said that Dad had a basic coffin included in his Golden Charter plan. We decided to pay extra for a picture coffin. She explained that we needed 2 Doctors' signatures for cremation formailties, these would be just over £160 on top of the plan. On leaving, we had concerns as things seemed a bit dishevelled in the office, nothing was computerised, just a pile of papers, but decided to give them a chance. They sent us the invoice, which was very vague. We wanted to know when they would be picking Dad up from the hospital mortuary, they said they had to wait for our coffin to arrive. I thought this was odd, undertakers don't normally pick people up in the coffin, as it is hard to dress someone in one. She said they would ring when they had collected him.Pauline rang a couple of days later to confirm our plans and told us she was off on holiday the next day. She said that the team would look after us. I wondered why she hadn't told us this at our first meeting and handed us over to the team then for continuity. All telephone conversations were rushed, they couldnt wait to get you off the phone, and any sensitivity went out the window. We wanted to know the value of the basic coffin and the price of the one we ordered. They wouldn't tell us that either. Just that the new one was £200 extra. They planned to collect Dad the Friday before the bank holiday. They didnt. They said it was because the coffin wouldnt arrive til Tuesday. Pauline #2 took over and things went downhill. She was snappy with my Sister, rubbishing the funeral plan that Dad had been paying a huge sum into. She said they had never done the 'classical ' plan before and wouldn't be doing another as they would be making a loss. Not a conversation for a bereaved family! They should discuss with Golden Charter, whom they represent! She was rude to the celebrant that we decided to hire, said she should be doing it for free...it is her job! Pauline wrote a cheque out to the celebrant, to be added to our bill... She was irritable towards me when i asked on the Tuesday whether the coffin had arrived. Just!" She snapped "its only just got here!" I asked whether they would advise us when they had picked him up. It was now 2 weeks since he had died. "I've got to find 2 men yet!!" She had had over a week to find 2 men. So rude and insensitive

The service we received when we buried our Dad's ashes was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. They even helped with chasing up Tmbc departments for us...not an easy task as we found out. Thank you for your kindness and support. Especially Andrew and of course the rest of the team .
