Down On The Farm
I had a lady from Colorado who wanted to see a real live farm in Scotland while in Aberdeenshire. Matthew and Carol gave Tara an amazing tour of the cows, calves and the sheep at Down on the Farm. The highlight for her was handling the ferrets which was most unexpected. We were treated to cream and jam scones in the bothy before we left which was top class.Overall a great visit and well worth it.Alasdair BrodieTours By Brodie - Select Scotland Tours.

What a hidden gem we have found at Down on the Farm! Carole and Matthew are so friendly and are excellent hosts. We have stayed in the glamping pods for two nights cooking sausages on the open fire, roasting marshmallows and playing games. We spent our days taking in the views and visiting the local beaches. We finished our trip with the Farm tour where Carole pulled us round in the trailer with the quad bike (a highlight with the boys) and Matthew told us all about the farm and animals. We loved feeding the cows and exploring their beach. We returned today to visit the farm and learnt all about the stages of lambing. We loved every minute and learned so much.If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, educational and fun trip then look no further. We can’t wait to come back in spring for sheep shearing!Thank you Carole and Matthew!

Our third visit to Crossgates Cottage and it’s the perfect getaway from the hurly burly of urban life. Beautifully original whilst still providing all you need for your stay. The dark skies are simply stunning making this the perfect location for astronomers. We WILL be back.

This was my second time visiting but the first time with kids. We had a fabulous time even though the weather wasn't the best (at least it stayed dry). Carole is a lovely host and pretty much left us to our own devices after checking to see if we had everything we needed. In our group there were 3 adults and 2 kids and we spent the whole time laughing, playing games, sitting round the fire and exploring the area. We went down to New Aberdour Beach to visit the caves and we went to the Lighthouse Museum in Fraserburgh. Great location to get away from it all and we will definitely be back. Thanks Again :)

We did the very enjoyable Cow and Coast trip. Carole was very accommodating when our plans changed. She replied promptly and did all she could to fit us in at a time that we could manage, even offering a refund if it didn’t work out. Great customer service. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed our tour of the cows and the coast. Friendly and informative. Then back for tea/ coffee and cakes. Lots of home made/ local produce for sale- great way to support the local economy. Thank you.

Lovely stay. Quiet, slower paced, relaxing, and fun. Thank you for some much needed down time! Our Harvest Hut was cozy and comfortable. It was so fun to stay in a sheep field. We enjoyed our farm tour. Carole and Matthew were wonderful hosts! We appreciate all they are doing for the agricultural industry. To anyone considering a Down on the Farm experience, we encourage it!

Down On The Farm
It was our first time to try glamping in Scotland which was a 10-minute drive from our home in Fraserburgh. The pods were stunning and surprisingly spacious for the four of us. It got all our needs. Plates, cutlery, cups, microwave, electric kettle and some cook ware. We had an amazing time as we had supper in the fire pit and had smores afterwards. It was a quiet secluded safe place. In the morning they had us in their farm, had a bit of tour and learned a lot about cow farming. I will definitely come back to stay at least 2 nights in their pod. Such an amazing host Carole and Matthew. This is a must try activity when visiting the Fraserburgh area

This place is an amazing getaway from the hustle life. Beautifully set amidst a working farm. The hobbit houses were so comfy and pleasant, we had a good time. Carol and Mathew were so helpful and briefly showed us around and told about the working of the farms(They also take you on a trip on the trailer to show around, Enquire directly for more information). The coastal villages of Scotland is a must explore!
