I've attended the on-line course as well as the 2 day course. It's worth every penny and you will get way more from the training than you expect,it's lots of fun too. The concepts presented can be applied in multiple areas and I hope eventually the diving community will embrace fully embrace it. Thanks Gareth for opening our eyes!

Great knowledge to be gained and applied. I have been using the skills and processes learned in this course not only in the courses I teach and all my diving, but also in work and my personal life. If you enjoy challenges, learning how to improve and learning how to avoid catastrophic mistakes - this training is for you!

“As a Scuba Instructor and the Communications Coordinator for NAUI Worldwide, I spend a great deal of time working as a team and coordinating information and events with our global membership. Coming into the Human Factors training, I felt that I had a fairly solid grasp of the relevant non-technical skills addressed in the course –leadership/followership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving,situational awareness, etc. I must admit, however, that the intensivetwo-day Human Factors training course left me humbled – and inspiredto apply what I learned to both my personal and professional life.Completing this training with my supervisor and fellow colleagues madethe experience even more effective and powerful. I would not hesitateto recommend working with Gareth Lock and completing the Human Factors training. If you are willing to give it your full effort, you willbenefit greatly.

I've attended the on-line course as well as the 2 day course. It's worth every penny. I work in the field of conflict resolution so my expectation weren't high but the course was excellent and very insightful about group interactions. The concepts presented can be applied in multiple areas and I hope eventually the diving community will embrace fully embrace it. Thanks Gareth for giving us new tools that if applied can allow our team to function at a far higher level.

I applied for the two-day human factors/non-technical skills course not quite sure what it would entail. However, knowing Gareth's reputation, I expected it would be reflective, developmental and well worth my time invested. I was not disappointed. His high levels of emotional intelligence and candour meant that he was able to pick up even the slightest detail and debrief in a positive manner and manage any conflict between the students caused by the high stress & time pressured environment. This was done in a constructive manner and he ensured that a psychologically safe environment was maintained at all times to facilitate learning, especially when failure happened (as was planned!)I was very pleased with the time I invested in this course as it brought home to me how I react and behave when I am out of my comfort zone but still have to work as a team to get a task completed.I would thoroughly recommend any senior manager or executive who wants to improve self-awareness or 'human in the system' factors to contact Gareth to discuss a way forward.

In an ideal world, the Human Factors in Diving program would be a part of the curriculum of every single open water class and every part of the dive master program for every diver making the transition to pro. The impact of this course in terms of seeing in an indisputable fashion of the limit of one's awareness, and the key to teamwork, communication, leadership, and delegation of tasks for a team to be successful is difficult for me to describe in a fashion that gives it the justice it deserves. The great thing about this course as well is that it isn't just about diving, but life as well. It is the only course for diving that I recommend that doesn't involve physical dive skills. I recommend (possibly badger them) the mini-class as a minimum for dive master and assistant instructor candidates that I train.

I have completed both the on line Human factors course and the 2 day course with Gareth, you get to learn a lot about communication, self inflicted and self imposed stress, managing stress, the importance of clear communications and reading checklists in preparation for a task and much much more. I can't recommend this course high enough for any one in a team and especially for any one who leads a team, regardless of sports , play or work

The online micro-course is a stellar introduction to the world of applied human factors in the world of SCUBA diving. It reviews the foundations of Human Factors knowledge with extraordinary reading lists. Each exercise engages the student thoughtfully to explore diving through their own experiences reexamined. I highly recommend this course for divers who want to elevate their diving experience beyond the task-oriented level of most diving courses. Ideally, dive clubs or regular dive buddies could take the course concurrently and take these non-technical skills underwater for experimental learning to complement the course content.Gareth Lock provides excellent narration throughout the course. His strong presentation skills resonate within the recorded media.

I've completed both the online micro class and the 2 day course which included the #GemaSim missions. Excellent structure and content on both and brilliantly conducted by Gareth. While I have a bit of a background in human factors, organisational failure and continuous improvement I found I really learnt to learn" myself during the time with Gareth
