Tarim Uyghur Restaurant

I used to be a very loyal customer who came frequently but we had an extremely unpleasant dining experience today.My friends and I (a party of six) sat down and waited for almost 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order. My partner asked for a jar of water for five times.After that, it was another long wait for our food to arrive, much longer than usual. The big pot chicken (大盘鸡）tasted so different from previous times with weird spices (we suspect it came from too many anises).After almost an hour, one of our dishes (lamb rice) still did not arrive. We politely asked the staff and told them we would not want it anymore if it is still not made. The staff said it is on the way. It was another extremely long wait until we finally could not stand it and asked for the bill - the lamb rice never came, even thought it would take less than half an hour previously.We were very disappointed and asked to speak with the manager, with whom I asked to remove the service charge, due to the poor service. I was shocked that the manager said they cannot do that (is this even legal??) and can only apply student discount for us (we can get student discount anyway so this is of no difference).As an old customer, I was so upset after paying the bill and explained to the manager once again about this awful experience. I also told him the big pot chicken tasted worse than before as a feedback and with the hope that they can improve.Now comes to the funny moment. The manager said (his original words), “go try somewhere else next time. After all, you are the customer.”I can’t believe he actually said that! No apologies, no explanation, no nothing!

It’s my first time to have the dinner here, and the food is surprisingly amazing! I love all the noodle dishes! The staff here are all very friendly, especially JJ who is very quick to serve us in a very professional way. I’ll definitely come back again.

Spicy Chicken with Noodles - Flavour is good, the level of spicy is manageable, vegs and noodles in the dish are soaked in the soup with full flavour.Uyghur Kebab - Spicy and crunchy outer layer with well done inside.Uyghur Polo - Recommend! The lamb on the rice flavoured perfectly, must try.

Incredible food, incredible people!!! I need to go again and again!!!The meat was tender and delicious, the chicken noodles were amazingly spicy, the salad was refreshing, and the dessert was not too sweet - all perfect!!!

Everything we tried was really good and full of flavour, we had the spicy chicken noodles, uyghur dumplings, samsa, uyghur tea and rice pudding. I’d recommend all of those, and thank you to Fatih for the recommendations and the pudding :)

Its a nice Uyghur restaurant in Holborn. The atmosphere is very homey and has a nice lighting. The staffs were incredibly friendly and the food is the undoubtedly wonderful. The price? Its very affordable (they even have 15% discount for student and NHS).All and all, this is where you can taste the mixture between Chinese and Middle Eastern food

Delicious, unusual flavours - our first time eating Uyghur food and we loved it. The home made noodles are particularly good. Service is fantastic, prices very reasonable. I'll be back!

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant, and it was an experience I'm eager to share. Initially, my cousin and I were hesitant to stay as we were pressed for time. However, the owner, with his outgoing and persuasive charm, assured us of the quick service. His warm hospitality and friendly vibe convinced us to stay.The highlight, undoubtedly, was the food, soooo good. It was nothing short of phenomenal – authentic, flavourful, and reminiscent of the dishes I had back home in Xinjiang. We had their two best fried noodles dishes, and unique milk tea. It makes me feel as if I were back in my hometown.The service was prompt, living up to the owner's promise, and the staff were super friendly and helpful as well! Their hospitality was indeed five-star.I enjoyed the whole dinning experience there. The authentic Uyghur dishes, combined with exceptional service, make it a must-visit for anyone looking to explore this unique cuisine.Already planning my next visit!

Really delicious food here. Lamb skewers were tasty. The pastry thing (forgot it's name) was also delicious. Best dish was the 大盘将 though! Delicious hand pulled noodles, topped with a tasty gravy and tender chicken. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.
