I attended the Makup intensive 4 month set ready make up course. I loved every minute of it. I learnt so much whilst on the course from prosthetics to period hair and make up. Veronica is an amazing tutor with a wealth of knowledge and so much experience in her field. She continues with her help and guidance after the course ends. Since leaving the course I have been lucky enough to work on a marvel film ‘black widow’ working at pinewood studios in London and a BBC series ‘small axe’ I look forward to what exciting opportunities this year brings. Veronica is simply amazing! The experiences and lessons she can and does share with her students is indispensable if you are eager to enter the industry! I have learned so much through her kind and patent way of instructing, always supporting her student to the utmost! The work experience I have managed to take part in through Veronica is incredible with large budget films being part of them. I greatly recommend her academy and of course person!

My experience at the Makup Academy has been incredible! Doing the intensive 4 month set ready course has nurtured and improved my skill base dramatically. Veronica is a first class tutor and I feel privileged to have someone with so much talent, industry experience and passion to be my mentor. Veronica is the most amazing hair and make-up artist I have met whose passion for her job is truly inspiring. Veronica's set of skills go way beyond just hair and makeup; she is talented, ambitious, hard working and creative. Not only is she truly gifted at her job but she dedicates so much time, energy and patience to her students to the extent that you feel you are getting one to one tuition.Veronica will always push you striving for perfection. I believe this standard of teaching is not something you will get at any other institute, but only at MAKUP Academy. The amount of time and energy veronica puts in for her students will not be given anywhere else.From completing the course, I have already received two weeks work experience on a BBC production called Father Brown, I have worked on a film with Veronica herself called An American Exorcism, and I have just completed work experience on an RTE production called Bridget and Eamon in Ireland. The contacts I have received on all productions have been invaluable. Since I have finished the course, I have gained a lot of experience in the TV and Film industry and I am now starting to get paid work, and this is thanks to Veronica’s tuition.I have had so much fun at MAKUP Academy, it has been one of the best experiences in my life to date. Enrolling into the MAKUP academy was hands down one of the best things I have ever done. To study under somebody like Veronica who is so talented, patient, and a human fountain of knowledge to the make up artist craft is not only an amazing opportunity but it's a rewarding one too!I studied the 16 week set ready course. And it was one of the best decisions I've made! From somebody who had never put eyeshadow on anybody! going through each module I built upon my newly trained skills, layering on top of layering as my confidence grew so did my new talents.It didn't just stop there, Veronica is a perfectionist and will always push her students to do better and improve! with the 1 on 1 training you get at the Academy you really do flourish!During my 16 weeks at the MAKUP Academy I found my self welcomed to a little family with Veronica and the other 4 students. You become close, you become friends and you work as a team and I'm so proud of myself and the other students for what we accomplished during the course. all our portfolio images turned out amazing!Since graduating the Academy a few weeks ago and having completed my new CV I've already had job opportunities within the industry!I can't thank Veronica enough for the guidance and training, I'm beyond honoured to of been taken under her wing! As a recent graduate from the MAKUP Academy, I am filled with accomplishment, confidence and the knowledge to begin my career as a Hair and Makeup Trainee. MAKUP Academy has gone beyond my expectations, Veronica offers us Triple A* Star training, Ability, Aptitude and Attitude and there’s no doubt that is achieved. The standard of training we receive is exceptional, we are given one to one tuition as Veronica keeps a small class of students. For myself this was a major factor when comparing and finding the right course, Universities and other Makeup courses can have up to 30 plus students. I feel extremely lucky to benefit from Veronica’s award winning experience, reputation and contacts. I highly recommend the 16 week Set Ready Course for anyone wanting to start a career in Hair and Makeup for Film, TV and Theatre. You won’t find this level of expertise anywhere else.

I recently graduated from MAKUP Academy and can honestly say it was the best decision i’v made. After deciding on a major career change at 30 i was nervous to get back into learning and had no prior training in makeup or hairstyling, but i can honestly say Veronica makes the course what it is! Amazing! With her 30 years knowledge of the industry in TV and film. The set ready training really fills you with confidence and sets you up for a career in this industry. Not only does she provide amazing training throughout the 16weeks when the course finishes Veronica helps you find work experience and jobs too, i had already been offered 2 paid jobs before the course was complete. I am so excited for the future thanks to this course and Veronica and can honestly say i’m proud to be apart of the MAKUP family. Definately reccomend! Dont hesitate! Just do it!

I had the privilege of being accepted onto the short course at Makup last year and it was amazing. Veronica is a brilliantly talented artist and a kind and patient tutor. I already had some basic training in Film and TV hair and makeup so the top up course was perfect for me. With Veronica's input, I refined my skills, learned loads of useful tips and tricks that can be applied in a variety of situations and expanded my portfolio to help me gain work in the industry. I have since worked on 2 films due to Veronica's industry contacts and I feel confident I will have a long and successful career as a direct result of doing this course. Had I have known about this school sooner, I would very much liked to have done the full course as I can't imagine a better place to learn the trade. I wholeheartedly recommend this school to anyone that is serious about having a career in the film and television hair and makeup industry.

I have recently completed The Intensive Set Ready Course. It consisted of 4 months of intensive training covering a range of different skills and techniques covered in Film and Media Makeup. This was a complete career change for me as the last 10 years of my working life have largely revolved around the pharmaceutical industry and community pharmacy. I was extremely lucky to have trained under Veronica McAleer. She spent a great deal of her time teaching me techniques that she has learnt in the industry and imparting her knowledge and skills on her trainees. I had an amazing time as Veronica gives her all in one-to-one sessions with her students.For me, Veronica's courses were preferable as I have other commitments like being a busy mum and wife. The 4 months went incredibly fast, and it is exactly as described, intensive. I gave it my all and put everything I had into it as this was something completely new for me. I can now successfully produce finger waves which I loved creating for my final shoots and feel very proud of what I achieved. Veronica kept me on track, and I am grateful for all the wisdom she passed on during each of the modules. I was pushed to produce high quality and professional looks that would pass in the real industry and on production sets.After completing the course, I now have a better understanding of what it takes to be a Film and TV Makeup trainee. I am looking forward to widening my skillset and gaining work experience within the industry. It was great being involved in the Makup Academy training environment. I was given the opportunity to meet and train with talented professionals and other trainees. Veronica also gave me the opportunity to work with some previous students at a fashion show which I was very grateful for. Here I had the opportunity to put my skills which I learnt at the academy into practice.Thank you Veronica for this opportunity and good luck to all future trainees, who I’m sure will love being on this course.

What an amazing experience!If you're wanting to become a hair and makeup artist and get into film and tv, I couldn't recommend the Makup Academy more.Veronica is a fantastic teacher and makeup artist with 30+ years of experience.
