The resort staff were so friendly. The cabins were spotlessly clean. But, the overall resort needs the parent company to step up and make capital improvements. As in, the big money investments. There’s a bridge that’s obviously been closed for a while. It makes the guests walk twice as far to get to the pool, bar, laundry. Paths need heavy duty work, despite being maintained. Woodwork is worn. These aren’t things staff can fix or maintain. These are things that will require large investments. Sadly, many won’t see past these to realize what a lovely place this is. Minutes from Carrbridge by foot, but tucked away in the trees, it’s a wonderful place. The bedrooms are absolutely TINY. So, be ready. But, the couch bed is actually comfy, which almost never happens. The kitchen is great, and laid out well. Get your groceries in nearby Aviemore. No shop onsite. The sunroom is absolutely the best part of the cabin. Loved sitting there listening to the rain & reading. And eating breakfast in there every morning. This is a beautiful spot that simply needs its owners to pay attention to it before it is too late.

My girlfriend decided to change the accommodation last minute... and I'm more than happy that she did. The cabin is lovely, well equipped and very comfy, the view is great and the ducks are charming to chat too.... my girlfriend thinks I'm mad but I don't care

Beautiful setting, staff were lovely, well equipped cabins and really peaceful but we wouldn’t have booked if we’d known the pool wasn’t open. This info wasn’t given when booking. Restaurant was also closed but no big deal. There was a lot of mould on the bathroom ceiling and several hairs in the shower and on the shower curtain. All this could be excused but the changing rooms were filthy and the steam room was an absolute health hazard and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months.

Been coming since 1999.The resort is beautiful and has so much potential, but sadly it just seems no money is being put into this resort. (They focus on the sister resorts too much and lochanhully is forgotten)The cabins are lovely, comfortable and if you have a renovated one then you’ll be happy. Very comfy beds!I can’t believe how much has just…gone. No kids club or activities. No restaurant (cannot believe this) and the bar closes at 9pm, which is just ridiculous when it’s a holiday resort. (Also very expensive! )It used to be the “clubhouse” as that’s where everyone came together to socialise and have fun.But no longer. There’s nothing to make families go and sit down there now.I remember there used to be entertainment every evening and now nothing. The pool is very tired looking- it seriously needs some renovations to bring it back to life. Broken, dirty tiles and dated! The bridge across the loch has been closed off for nearly 2 years? What is the maintenance money from the owners actually being spent on?Fees go up yet everything is taken away from the resort? When you visit dalfaber and Macdonald resorts in aviemore you can see this is where they are focusing on which is a shame!Lochanhully could be excellent again for families and couples if they would just spend some time on it.It needs a restaurant, kids activities and some evening entertainment.

What a lovely spot and area. Excellent nearby activities.Went to Lochanully, but it was shut. Not been here since a teenager, a few changes since then - NO Restaurant. Bar last order at 5pm! Swimmingpool was closed all 7 days, same with the sauna, tiny gym (Machines older than me, cos I used far modern equipment in '97). Cabins are V good. Warm, well stocked, nice kitchen. Trim the verge guys! For a better veiw from the lodge.Ok for young families with 3yo kids and if your an amatour fisher, pulling out only 3-4 pounders max. Bring own rod as I think you can only rent out tennis stuff now. Shame. Ask about going to Dalfaber for half a day.

Great traditional woodland cabins, comfortable and basic but everything we needed. The grounds are lovely, some things a little tired looking and could be doing with upgrading. Have to say the staff were lovely and very helpful. The prices in the bar are very high so it is very quiet because of this. I would definitely go back as it is great value for money and a short drive to Aviemore x

One small frying pan is not enough when travelling with family. Therewas was no dishwashing detergent in the cottage. Also no tea, coffe, sugar that would be very helpful if checking in late. As mentioned here previously, money is not invested in this hotel. Would't go there again.

Great location. Friendly staff and welcome on arrival. 20 mins from Aviemore and 5 mins from landmark adventure park. Cabins are a bit dated, but they are clean. Looks like new kitchen and bathroom was installed. We paid £166 for 2 nights which is good value for money. We could have had up to 6 people staying. Cabins are dog friendly at an additional cost. Everything you need is available for a break away. Kitchen utensils, iron, towels, good shower, bath. TV in lounge and bedroom. Lovely to have ducks and peacock milling around outside in the morning. Pool and bar on site which we didn't use, but nice to have the option. Check in at 5 but we got in at 4 which was great. Cheap and cheerful and although dated, I believe they are doing work on cabins over the winter months. You get what you pay for though so I'm hoping the cost doesn't go up too much!

The pictures and description of the resort are very misleading it is a lot more dated and basic than portrayed. It is made out to be kid friendly with great play areas and things to do but there isn't much to do on site at all.The play areas on site are small and the older play area is hard to find and in a very random location away from the centre of resort. The bridge across the lake is currently closed. There is no shop for basic supplies such as milke, bread etc.Saying that the lodges themselves were lovely, spacious and very homely. The beds including sofa bed were very comfortable. The location is great and easy to get places if you have a car.The swimming pool is small but alot of fun. There is a sauna and steam room there to use as well. All the staff were lovely and the kids enjoyed seeing the ducks and ducklings wandering about.I do feel like the site it's self needs a bit of work and the fact you are constantly reminded that there is a £75 cleaning charge if you use wrong bins or the lodge isn't left in immaculate condition or if use to much electricity is a little off putting especially after signing to say we are aware of this at check in. The constant reminder is unnecessary and made us feel on edge all the time.
