Damian and James made a beautiful Arts & Crafts stained glass panel for our glazed oak door. We are absolutely delighted with the result: the workmanship is of a very high standard and the door has been much admired since completion. D Sunderland & Son is a family firm and a pleasure to deal with. We were gently and expertly guided through the design process, from initial drawings to choosing glass colours and textures from a range of samples. A lovely touch were the photos Damian sent showing the different stages of production, so we have a fascinating record of the panel's creation. We highly recommend this company for creative high quality stained glass production.

We recently commissioned a piece of work from D, Sunderland & Son, and we are absolutely delighted. We had an idea of what we wanted, but to be fair, we were a little undecided as to the exact nature of the design. We needn't have worried. We met with James, and after giving him our outline, he guided us through the process, listening to our ideas and putting them down on paper as a design, which was tweaked a couple of times in order to obtain just what we wanted. We were then shown multiple colour choices that matched our brief and we were able to choose what we thought suited us best.Having settled on the design James kept us informed of progress via email, showing us options of fonts style for the letters we wanted and including photographs as the piece came together. When we went to collect the piece we were absolutely delighted and it now hangs with pride in our hall for all to see.We have no hesitation in recommending James' work to anyone and are only too pleased to have found him.

Absolute wizards. We were gutted when the original leading in our front door started to crumble and the glass bowed out. James took it away, matched the glass that had broken and reinstalled a perfectly restored work of art. Brilliant craftsmanship from a lovely family run company.

The glass in the front door of our 1920 house had been replaced with Georgian wired…From first contact, James offered us ideas and we decided upon creating our own design. Damian recreated the original door panel that had been replaced with this awful translucent glass, probably around 50 years ago. I absolutely love it, and smile every time I see it.

We commissioned Damian and James to create a new piece of stained glass to hide a building our hallway looks onto that complimented the original piece of stained glass at the bottom of the hallway. It was a great process from the start to completion. We couldn't be happier with the work and the service provided. They also mended the slight damage on the original glass and it's just like new! We asked Sunderland & Son to create a bespoke piece for our front door and to clean and encapsulate our fanlight. James was incredibly helpful and communicative throughout and the result is spot on (picture attached). Would not hesitate to recommend.

Fantastic service and true craftsmanship from this first-class, Leeds-based family business.When we decided to replace a large, original but uninspiring landing window in a Victorian house, we had an outline idea of what we wanted but would have struggled ourselves to turn this into reality. However, James provided an attentive design service, holding our hand, offering sound advice throughout and patiently iterating his drawings until we arrived at a design we were happy with. As pleased as we were with the design, we were delighted with the finished leaded & stained-glass, replacement sash. It was beautifully hand-crafted and then carefully installed by James and his father. It looks like an original feature and we are very proud of it!
