Amazing food, great atmosphere and the service was good. For the main, we had the monkfish tails sharing dish which was very delicious. The monkfish tails were grilled to perfection and the lobster pasta (I forgot the specific name of this particular pasta) raised the dish to another level.I had the apple soufflé as the desert, which was the best souffle I have ever had (and I have had many). It was like apples melting in my mouth, I don't know how they managed to get the apple into the mixtures while keeping the souffle fluffy and light. Incredible!

Well what a lunch!! From the moment you step into the room, being greeted by the most friendly and welcoming staff, to sitting in the beautifully designed restaurant there isn’t one detail left to chance. Everything is stunningly curated. The menu is sublime, we even had the chance to meet Patrick himself, a real treat. The food is out of this world delicious, you certainly will not be disappointed if you look to visit. The steak & dauphinois potato is insanely good. The food and service is impeccable and a real credit to all. Ed White thank you for checking in on us we really were blown away. Thank you so very much.I cannot rate this venue more highly it’s a MUST visit if in London and seeking something that touch extra special.

Wow. Would like to give more than 5! It is my favourite building in London. For 10 years I took round guided tours of the empty derelict building. It has now been restored in the most amazing, careful way and to see it now is just magic. I dined and enjoyed their set lunch which was perfect. Every dish worthy of being photographed but I don't do that. All the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. My wife has already said it her turn next for a birthday treat there. There is the lovely Gothic Bar next to the restaurant just off the Euston Road. Very well worth visiting as a haven away from the noise and bustle along that road. It is somewhere special to take someone.

Fabulous from start to finish, lovely service and well looked after by staff, the food was superb, everything tasty and one of the waiters helped me pick wine for the meal. The building and decor of the room is worth exploring and the bar just outside the restaurant is perfect to finish off the evening in..

We ate some fabulous food and enjoyed cocktails in the Gothic Bar, wow what a venue, ambience and customer service 1st class, from arrival to leaving we had the best attention to ensure our best experience and satisfaction. This hotel, bar and restaurant is so worthwhile a visit, we happened to come across a promotional feature on Instagram as a 'must' visit London highlight and so we had to explore so as not to miss out, enjoyed our time as a pre theatre indulgence. Will return on our next visit to London.

Absolutely stunning meal, room and service from start to finish. An array of snacks and starters to select from (this was a very difficult decision), the mains and sides were stunning. We ordered a seafood tower, pâté en croute, parfait (it came with this gorgeous brioche), the snails (amazing), lamb shoulder, turbot (so so good)… the desserts, one star after another - Paris Brest that was so delightfully crisp, with gorgeous cream and strawberries, the baked alaska with a delicious coulis on top. It’s either a situation where you need a repeat visit to cover off the missed menu items, or a visit with a good group of people so you can dip into as many of the delightful dishes as possible. The sommeliers were also excellent and every wine pairing we had was fantastic. I loved the addition of the dessert wine at the end, only wish I had taken a photo of it as it was gorgeous, slightly bubbly and reminiscent of a sweet coulis. What I’ve failed to mention above, is the establishment in itself. What a stunning and glamours room. The artwork in the dining room is wonderful, the aesthetic of the interiors, the seats, the carpeting all of which are somehow presented without feeling stiff and uninviting, inaccessible. Instead you feel a warm, vibrant and cosy energy in a room that perhaps if situated in west London would feel as though it was only for the most elite. Thank you Midland Grand Dining Room for delivering such a fantastic experience.Be sure to allow time to visit Gothic Bar for a drink before or after dinner (personalised Eau De Vie cocktail anyone?). And forget about what time it is, it simply disappears when your there.

I've been looking forward to this meal for a while and it did not disappoint.Let's start obviously from the beginning with a few snacks. Crunchy comte gougere and parmesan fritters oozing with their delicious fillings was absolutely delightful. The gilders tangy with just the right amount of chilli kick to bring me back from my gougere and fritter cloud! Special mention for the bread btw, after hearing the crack of salt in the butter I was excited to have a slice (FYI bread should always, always, always be served with salt flakes in the butter!) Spongy and light with a decent crust, normally steering clear of bread I had to break my rule.Moving on to the starters. Crab toast and snails bourguignon, you could not have had two dishes on the furthest scale of the taste spectrum! On one side, the snails. Meaty in a rich sauce with a shine that reflected the above chandelier so beautifully, comforting with an incredible depth of flavour, salty and sour with a slight smokey bitterness at the end was sublime. On the other side crab on toast in a wonderfully smooth, light and sweet seafood bisque, cue the last bit of bread to mop the plate with. I could have quite happily sat there with two more bowls of each sauce!Of course we had to have a salad (so we didn't feel too guilty). Ok ok so it had stracciatella in it but why move away from the theme of decadence here. Beautifully creamy stracciatella cheese with the crunch of almonds and freshness of courgette. It was my next bite that surprised me. This time with the cheeky addition of fresh basil elevating the freshness of the dish. I wish all my 5 a day tasted like this!On to the main event, barbequed monkfish tail, which I was slightly excited about because it came with my favourite, fregola. The fish was perfectly cooked, meaty and tender combined with the starchy fregola and sweet with the flavours of lobster and little cubes of parsnips, was delicious. We had a side of dauphinoise which while perfectly creamy and with a very slight bite in the potato, which I personally love (we had a conversation on firm Vs soft dauphinoise) was admittedly a little too heavy to have with this dish. We were however sent up a side of fries and this was perfect, the best fish and chips I've ever had in my life! And on to dessert, it would be rude not to! We had to share the Bombe Alaska. Soft meringue, piped, which looking at the pictures now was almost like a shy woman inviting you to open her up (keep your dirty thoughts to yourself!) Served with a wonderfully sour, lemony, raspberry and verbena compote. It was the flavour we craved after such a rich meal. I had to have a scoop of my favourite fig leaf ice cream. I am always a bit dubious when it comes to ice cream, for example you could have a beautiful nutty real pistachio Vs pistachio flavoured ice cream, disappointing. However this was not, perfectly vanillaery and coconutty if these are words, and refreshing after the richness of dinner. I've got the recipe now, so I just need to find some fig trees! Lastly we had the creme caramel. So being Filipino we have our version, leche flan, and personally I always find creme caramel lacking in the creaminess of our version sometimes even watery. On the downside with leche flan you pay for the creaminess with a slight heaviness. This was actually quite perfect (don't tell my sister!). The creme caramel had that creaminess I love and melted in my mouth perfectly. Not a disappointment at all.We had an amazing dinner, simply out of this world. The food matched a sumptuous setting with exceptional service. It's been a while since I've tasted anything this good.

A beautifully decorated restaurant in a grand setting. Lovely table settings with comfy seating. Modern French cuisine executed with style. Friendly and efficient service but not overpowering. Expensive but worth the price based on the quality of food.

Came here for a relaxing nibble but a total fail. The best way to assess a restaurant's capability to entertain guests is if you flew in that day (or night) bringing with you a 23 kg luggage, jet-lagged looking for that comforting meal before heading home. Terrible idea at the Midland Grand.First, arrived at the Renaissance Hotel lobby. Receptionist knows nothing about how the hotel is connected to the restaurant and asked me to walk all the way outside to the restaurant's main entrance from the hotel lobby when just beside it, inside the hotel, is a sign that points directly to the connecting corridor to the restaurant. At the restaurant entrance (yes, I walked all the way through, carrying my luggage) no one was ready to welcome anyone at all. When one of the staff came, he ushered me towards the restaurant section which is behind their main bar passing through a couple steps, obviously seeing me with my luggage but never offered a hand nor anyone else from the staff. I can definitely confirm, by just bringing my luggage with me, the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. Finally at the restaurant, had my luggage and coat stored and was then ushered to my table handing the menu. None asked if it was my first time in the restaurant, talked to me over their menu etc. Just waited for me to call on them when I was ready. And I already knew I just wanted their du jour. No one bothered coming over to top up water on my glass. Whereas on other tables, they were being explained thoroughly, pass by and topped their glasses every so often. None of it happened in my table. Then came the terrine. It was plain, in taste and presentation. The ceramics used were the generic minimalistic approach on white. Nothing bespoke. The feel of their cutlery was unremarkable. When the rabbit came, I sent the photo to a friend and I agree, what a boring lapin à la moutarde. I personally feel offended for someone to call their restaurant French then pairs their main course with pilau"
