Laura Henderson Dance Academy

My daughters have been dancing with LHDA for four years and my eldest just did her first “proper” ballet exam. The teachers are really great and strike a good balance between really teaching them the technique and skills they need to get through exams well, performing in big dance shows etc but also making lessons low fun and exams and shows low pressure. We’re really happy we chose LHDA for our family.

The Laura Henderson Dance Academy is a place like no other. It’s not just a dance school it’s a family and a place where I feel at home. I have been a member of the LHDA family for as long as I can remember and I have loved every second of it. Being able to look back at my growth and experiences is amazing as I have achieved more than I ever thought I would. The amazing teachers always go the extra mile even if it means staying late to help get us ready for exams and shows showing just how much they genuinely care about all of us students. The trip to Disneyland, shows, festivals, competitions, photoshoots, exams and every single lesson has made for the most unforgettable memories. Their high standard of training and dedication has resulted into me gaining a place at the prestigious Bird College (Conservatoire for dance and musical theatre) to further my training post 18. I will forever be grateful and will always feel a part of the LHDA family.

I have been a part of the LHDA family since the very start. I started as a young girl and left in 2016 when I went of to higher education, and I've even come back to do adult dance classes. Through laura i was able to achieve my high grades in my dancing exams and equally high in my A level PE practical grades. She developed my confidence and gave me tailored teaching to account for my dyslexia which means i often take a little longer than others to remeber dances. She is a truly wonderful dance teacher and mentor.

Laura Henderson dance academy not only tutors in many dance disciplines for youngsters, they also are one of very few who take adult beginners in ballet and tap. As an adult beginner I have found the quality of tutoring fantastic, well exceeding the expectations, as an adult there is sometimes a tendency to try and make the instruction the lite" version

Excellent dance school with terrific teachers. I love the adult tap class and Laura is such a patient teacher. The regular shows are an integral part of the school allowing all students to have their moment on the stage.

My children have danced and performed in various classes with Laura since 2007 and have loved every minute! LHDA is a wonderful environment that focuses on having fun, whatever your ability. I'm so grateful to Laura and her team for nurturing my little ones' confidence and continuing to provide an environmental for them to thrive as they grew into young adults.

This is a lovely dance school! Two of my daughters have danced here for years and have gone from complete beginners to the auditioned groups and loved it all. There are regular shows and exams for those who want them with a really friendly atmosphere and great teachers. Highly recommended.

I was so pleased to find the Laura Henderson Dance Academy. Laura is a great teacher and makes everybody feel welcome.The group of ladies are all lovely and welcoming too. Classes are action packed with no time wasted on chit chat until after we have finished the lesson.Laura always takes time at the end of the session to recap what we have learnt that week.

Fantastic dance school with amazing opportunities for all ages. Truly supportive and nurturing, whilst having a strong focus on technique and performing - which is a very hard balance to strike but genuinely achieved here. I love being part of dance company and being taught by miss Laura again, having been off to uni and come back years later. A friendly dance school that is going from strength to strength. Jo x
