New Forest Airfields Memorial
5 minute visit but interesting to see the extent of wartime airfields in the forest. Would have liked to see what planes flew from which airfield

Beautifully designed memorial with gardens either side. A bit off the beaten track, but that makes the site peaceful to visit and pay respects.

Interesting memorial to the airfields in the New Forest and the aircrews and people that supported them during WW2.Worth a visit if you want to learn about the local history. There were a surprising number of airfields, the outlines of many can still be seen from the air or on Google Maps/Earth satellite images.

A unique and worthy memorial, fitting for its purpose, and representing all of the efforts and sacrifices made by all in the New Forest area during WW2. Worth a visit when you're in the area! You can even swing by whilst camping at the Holmsley Campsite, located on the old airfield just next to the memorial.

A lovely area in the New Forest to visit / explore. The Airfields Memorial site has boards with information to read which is very interesting and informative. Just up the road is a very nice campsite in fact there are two. One very close is a camping / caravan club site I believe the other is Holmesley camp site. Holmesley is a large open Forest site and very popular with tents and caravans or camper Van's/ motorhomes.

I have been to this memorial lots of times, as it's on route to Christchurch from my home nr Hythe. Each time the sun has always been behind the memorial, this time it wasn't. Best photo I've taken so far.Well worth a visit if you are interested in the history of New Forest airfields.

A great memorial to the allied airman who flew from the airfields in the New Forest in WW2. It's just a short drive off of the A35, pop in and visit it.

Sweet little memorial to the brave men and women involved in the air campaign of WW2 from the New Forest. Lovely to see the community involvement in getting it together.

Not much info about the airfields themselves, more about the organisation that built the memorial. That said it was very interesting and a very striking memorial. Recommend walking around the immediate area of Homsley South looking out for the long stretches of old runway - quite captivating.
