Silverstone Museum is an ideal day out for families and racing enthusiasts alike. We took our car mad grandson there for his birthday and he loved it. As a special treat I Pre booked the race track simulator giving him a great day out. There is ample parking as you would expect. It is modern, spotlessly clean with attentive staff. As soon as you’re booked In you’re given a wristband making it possible to return to your car for any bits and bobs you need. The small cafe is well stocked with fresh food at competitive prices. They do accept cash but prefer card payments for food and souvenirs. The museum gives you the history of Silverstone including a wealth of information on the role of the RAF at the track during World War 2. The tributes to the heroes of the war are poignant and welcome. The museum is extremely good at catering for disabled guests even going as far as having a state of the art disabled toilets. It even has hoist and changing mat with shower for any disabled guest who have had a mishap. I highly recommend Silverstone Museum especially on a typical wet summer day out.

Really good museum with loads of interactive exhibits. Fascinating history of the airfield and development of the circuit. There is a good scalextric track and a room of simulators available for £25 for 30 minutes. It was very quiet when we went on a Sunday afternoon and I think the waits might have been frustrating if they had been busier. Each of the exhibits is well labeled but there was no real overview to allow us to plan the visit. We had no idea how big it was until we had finished.

A beautiful experience for any car lover. I brought this as a gift for a F1 fan and he loved it. I, myself, am not the biggest fan but I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. It was unique and full of fun interactive features. The 4D show at the end was the star of the show, it was such a great time. The track walk was closed, which was unfortunate, but we did get to watch some of a race from a view point and it was amazing!

Fab place to visit if your a fan of F1 or Moto GP. Loads of history about Silverstone also. When you buy your ticket online, it enables you to use the tickets again for the year which is great. We will go back when the weather is better to do the driving experience.Approx 3-4 hours for the trip out. Nice cafe there but we thought the food was expensive. Lovely coffee though. We had bag checks when we arrived, lovely staff. Nice shop.We will definately return.

I visited the Silverstone Museum and was surprised by the history of its origins as a World War 2 airbase. It then made sense of some of the parts of the Silverstone circuit like: Hanger Straight and Wellington Straight.I found the first audio visual on entry, way-too-loud, and very distracting and so quickly bypassed it. In my opinion, it's a complete distraction to an otherwise excellent museum. The museum is very interactive. It's worth booking and paying in advance as it saves a couple of quid on the entry price.

The Silverstone Museum was a pleasant place to visit but nothing extraordinary. It shows the history of the Silverstone racetrack from it being a monastery to the track you can see today. It is fairly obvious that the vast majority of things to see relate to its motor racing history. There was a completely unnecessary and loud video sequence to watch before entering the museum and a 3D film to watch on leaving which made me feel quite ill.My main disappointments in the museum were that there was not enough to interest younger children and there were almost no exhibits that people could sit in to experience and enjoy. It would have been so popular if people could have sat in an actual F1 car and things like that. There was a quiz that children could complete and receive a lollipop at the end. Some of the questions couldn't be completed as there were some displays unavailable. The heritage trail was closed off when we visited so that aspect was missing too which was a shame. There were a few people going around the track and we were able to watch them briefly from a concrete raised viewing platform. That was enjoyable and gave a slight idea of what the place would be like on a real race day. There is a cafe on site which we didn't use but the food looked very good and the staff appeared very professional. If you bring your own food you are required to eat it outdoors on the tables and benches provided. I don't know what would happen if there was bad weather. At lunchtime the cafe got very busy.On our visit there were lots of teenage girls making good use of the girls visit free in October offer. This offer did not show up when we booked our tickets online a couple of months previously. It was good to see so many girls enjoying a love of motor racing and engineering. It hopefully bodes well for the future. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the place. The only exception was at the entrance ticket desks. Although we had pre bought tickets we were still required to queue for the ticket desks to have our tickets verified and receive our wristbands. The queues for this were long and relatively slow. The staff at the desk were generally unhappy and appeared stressed apart from the two who decided it was better to slide off into a cupboard to laugh at something from one of their phones rather than stay at their desk and clear the queues.Parking was nearby, plentiful and free although I missed any signpost telling me that it was the required car park.Toilets were plentiful and very well maintained.I am unlikely to ever visit again but at least I can say I have been to the famous Silverstone as I would be unable to cope with going to an actual race day.

The museum is great to spend time wandering around. They stagger people in, so it's not overcrowded. The outside area is nice to walk around, and if a race is on, you are able to watch it.The 1 star is lost as I went on the simulator with a friend, this is OK value for money but disappointed as on the website it says you have a choice of cars to drive around the track, but we were only giving on option which not what we were expecting. It would have been nice to be able to choose the car as the website suggests.

It was an interesting visit - a lot more information about Silverstone as a place and its history than I expected, but still very interesting. The cars were brilliant as you'd expect, but the really nice thing was that there was a GT3 testing session happening which you could go out and watch from trackside!

A good museum attempting to cater for all ages. Not unsurprising mostly F1 centric, but does cover some other more interesting series. Some exhibits could do with some more detailed information... but overall a good enjoyable 3hrs spent wandering about. The cafe was very good as well.

The museum is nice, but due to the history and importance of Silverstone I was expecting a more impressive museum with more collectible items.Staff was very friendly, and the place offers a free parking lot.Despite of that, I really recommend the visit. There is a coffee inside with good options for a quick lunch.
