It’s amazing when you actually get meat that is organic. The chicken is amazing, large drumsticks that have nice natural colour instead of being white. I have also had the burgers and chicken livers since I got my delivery yesterday. Organic meat may be a luxury for some, but I see it as an investment into my health. Well worth the money and will be setting up regular deliveries. Thanks folks

I personally believe that if you are going to eat meat you should be willing to spend appropriately to ensure that you are buying high quality meat from independent, domestic farmers who care about what they do. Animal welfare is absolutely essential to me but it can be hard to know what is truly happening at farms and abbatoirs. There is clear message on Hugh Grierson's website that ecology, welfare and quality are primary motivating values. The beef and lamb I have received in my orders is genuinely some of the best I have ever tasted (and I doubt that is just down to my cooking). I also regularly order chicken feet for making bone broth and have tried several UK suppliers. The chicken feet from Hugh Grierson's farm are the cleanest, strongest, healthiest looking ones I have seen and that reassures me that the animals were well cared for.

I drove 40 mile yesterday to buy beef, there was no farm shop, just a portacabin with some eggs and very little choice in a freezer

Just collected my first order and it won't be my last. Had forgotten what real meat should taste. OMG this produce is amazing and a great price compared to supermarket organic produce. Feels more rewarding to buy direct and cut out the shareholders

I've just discovered Hugh Grierson's organic butchery and I'm really impressed! A phonecall to arrange my order was an easy and friendly way to understand what was available and I dropped by to pick up a day later. The communication was excellent, and the quality of the meat was some of the best I have ever had the pleasure to cook with. I also picked up a dozen eggs which have an excellent shell and flavour. I'll definitely be ordering from them in the future.

If I stay any closer I'd buy every day. Frozen chicken and parts as well as free range organic eggs. Shame you don't deliver eggs to Edinburgh.

I undertook a carnivore way of eating to heal my autoimmune conditions. I struggled to find a supplier or supermarket with tasty, ethically-raised products I could rely on. I decided to visit the Grierson's farm to really understand the difference that ethical, natural and sustainable farming would make to my health. I now have a monthly order which takes care of 95% of all my food, with the rest from eating out occasionally. As a result of switching over what I eat to 100% organic, grass-fed, grass-finished animals, I have seen a remarkable improvement in my health. I am delighted that I can rely on the Grierson's to keep me in the best health of my life. Thank you for leading the way in your industry.

Every effort has been put in to ensure the utmost quality in animal welfare and organic farming standards. Unfortunately, while focusing primarily on the ecological aspect of the business, Hugh Grierson has without a doubt dropped the ball on the butchery side of the business as well as the customer relations side. Both of which are just as important, if not more so than the former. To say the ordering process is antiquated would be an understatement. The website looks like a flashback to the 90's and is very clunky and isn't optimised for mobile devices (in 2020). There is no payment processor in place, so after placing your order, you are required to call up and give your card details over the phone. The obvious problem with this method is the security aspect. The other issue is, you have absolutely no idea what your final bill will be until the order has been processed, so they essentially have carte blanche to charge whatever they wish. There was a massive communication breakdown between the end user, customer relations and the butchery department. This process needs to be streamlined. If people are seeking out artisanal butchers/farmers and willing to pay top whack for their meat, chances are high those people (myself included) know exactly what they want and how they want it.I ordered a ribeye and requested it be sliced around 1.5 inches thick. This ensures a great sear/crust on the steak while maintaining a juicy pink centre. The ribeye I received was more akin to a slice of streaky bacon, not quite... it was 1cm thick, less than half an inch. After enquiring to customer relations, I was told the following:Thank you for your feedback. In terms of the rib eye

Very rude customer service by Pamela after l bought their meat last Thursday, the meat they sent gave me food poisoning as soon as l start eating it l can feel my body getting fatigued as did an eating something an allergic to.. it could be the ageing process where they is not aged properly and it’s full of bad bacterias! Seriously l have spoke with them to give the refund but they insisted that they won’t help me whatsoever which l find it very insulting as now they have got away with my £77 and am stuck with their tasteless rotten meat! Please if you value ur money and health stay away from this farm/butcher!! ur better of buying fresh meat from ur local butcher as long as is grass fed, these demonic mafias are selling so called aged rotten meat to the customers charging you a fortune because they know ur desperate of organic grass fed meats!! pamela ur time will come my dear because l will be taking this further and l will make sure my money is refunded!! what sort of meat that is grass fed for life and organic but is still tasteless?? What sort of grass ur feeding ur animal’s bay way? A tasteless meat is a sign of not well raised meat so thank God l won’t be buying from you guys again!! As l said folks stay away from this farm they are selling less nutritious rotten meats!! If had a chance to put a zero star l would l of done that too as they don’t even deserve 1 star l put up for them!!

Small selection but worth a stop if you are passing. The rare breed sausages looked good.
