John M has given me fantastic customer care and service every visit .He has taken his time to make sure I understand the baits and what does what.Make sure I’m using the correct bait for my rig setup .Answered everyone of my relentless questions with expert advise and a smile .As a business owner myself this is exactly what I would like at the front .well done John.

Great friendly staff, very professional knowledgeable and experienced. Kit out for carp fishing and float fishing. I would recommend them all day long. If your local and need a some kit pay them a visit. Outstanding.

I have been a pleasure fisherman for many years and had varied degrees of success. For the last few years i have been doing more and more carp fishing, but not had much success at all. I visited Angling Direct in Colchester last week and asked for some help/advise from one of the worker Gary Caunte. Gary was so helpful with advise on bait, methods, rigs and even helped making some rigs up for me. He was so knowledgeable and even gave me advice and the lake i was due to visit at the weekend. After all Gary's advice my next session resulted in breaking my PB twice with a 19lb Mirror, followed by a 23lb Mirror. I cannot thank Gary enough for his time and advice and would recommend anyone struggling to visit the store in Colchester and have a chat with Gary.

Brand new to fishing, was taken along to here today with my mate and we spoke with one of the staff who gave fantastic advice with no hard sales ... Just per knowledge and expertise with personal experience with the recommendation and understanding of the local lakes and what they have success with and why. Great customer service and I left there feeling confident with my purchase!!

Went there with some hesitation on what I was going to get, but got welcomed nicely by all the team what was nice and then Gary come to help me and he was not leaving me till I was truly happy , he has amazing knowledge and is great with customers thank you for your help and making my time and choices better and easier and stress free,

Best place around for buying tackle, clothes and anything fishing related and always seem to have discounts,the only downside was there frozen bait it was the first time l got bait from there , l bought several packets only to open them when I went night fishing that day to find out it was totally unusable the mackerel and bluey didn't cut up like normal raw fish it was like soggy biscuits and the squid stunk had to pack up and come home an 80 mile round trip for two cars you can imagine my disappointment l had my son with me and a friend.

Had better visits there. Empty spaces where stock should be. Service wasn't great but will call again for another try and hopefully will be better next time.

Absolutely love visiting Colchester branch. Staff always so helpful and happy to have you in there!! I live closer to a different branch but always use Colchester

Always a pleasure shopping here most of the guys are very knowledgeable on most fishing . But I do think they need to drop some prices a little tho .
