This place has a lot of hype and I was excited to try it! We went for lunch, upon entering we were greeted with a smell of what seemed like BO (which almost made me turn around and leave and I wish we had).We ordered two pizzas and two pints. Now I love pizza, I’ll eat bowling alley pizza, but this was so bad we had to send it back. Not only was it overly sweet, there were some mysterious flavours which really didn't belong in a margarita (like something hadn’t been cleaned properly in the kitchen). Also, the pints tasted like spoons - they were two different beers; one of them was okay, but one tasted like line cleaner. It was very metallic. We didn’t send the beers back because we already felt bad about the pizzas.Staff were very nice about it - they seemed a bit done with the place and weren’t at all surprised about the food. This might be a slightly unfair assessment as it is a cocktail bar and we didn’t get any, however before the pint I tried to order a few cocktails to be told they didn’t have the ingredients.Overall the place was sorely disappointing. I’d avoid this place for food, but maybe the cocktails are good if you can grab one.

The cocktails are great.Edit. I wasn’t happy at all with the serviced we received last night. When buying a drink like we have on several other occasions my daughter was asked for ID. That was no problem as they usually ask. She showed her young Scot’s card and was told that they couldn’t accept it so refused to serve her alcohol.

Was recommended this place by a friend for my day trip up to Edinburgh for the Christmas markets, the cocktails were good, the bar was busy and there was a wait for food. We weren't bothered about food so we just grabbed a drink. The only downside was the cocktail menu we were giving said the cocktail price was £4.50 when in actual fact it was £7.50 for one. Apart from that all was good. We enjoyed the drinks and the staff were friendly.

We had a wristband for cocktails. Drunk two of them. They were rather poor quality so left and went to better cocktail bars. Waste of money. The large one was no better than wetherspoons. Service pretty poor yet staff choose to add 12.5% for a tip without asking.

I love this place! I’ve been a few times and will continue to come back. I was in on Friday and got the Candy Happy Meal (burger, served with regular fries but the upgrade to the sweet potato fries adds another £1) plus a cocktail (I got the Monster From The Blue Lagoon) for £8.50!! Such a great price! Scanning the QR code from the staff, my friend got a free drink at Indigo Yard! Amazing! Seriously recommend this place, it’s awesome!

First time coming to Candy, nice decor and in a great location - very close to the Xmas market. The meal deal is great value, but the food and drink is cheap and cheerful. It is not somewhere you would go for quality cocktails and food, but it does have a good range of drinks at a cheap price.I didn’t find the staff very welcoming however, which is what affects this review for me. The first time I popped in was to try and get a walk-in table but they were fully booked. The woman working asked if we had booked and then just said “you need to book” and walked away, so we were left to see ourselves out.I made sure to book for my visit today (3 days after the original walk-in) which wasn’t necessary in the end as the place was empty when we got there for 12pm. It’s clear it is a busy place for cocktails in the evening, but I didn’t realise how popular it was that booking was required for 2 people.I also went to order the loaded fries, but after the order was processed, the waitress came back to tell me that they cannot currently serve any food with oil as they have no oil for the fryer. This felt really unprofessional and seemed more of a diversion to not turn the fryer on for midday.I think it probably is a 5 star experience normally, but the service did let me down, which is a bit conflicting as there is an automatic service charge applied to the bill.I did enjoy the Picante Pizza and would recommend their Candy selection cocktails though. Just some odd choices and professionalism issues with the services.

First time visiting and it did not disappoint. The food was lovely...we had the return of the mac burger with a side of garlic bread and onion rings. Everything was lovely the chips were nice and crispy but not too crispy. The onion rings were the stand out...wow they were amazing, crispy but fluffy, sweet but salty 10/10. Drinks were cheap as well and the service was quick and friendly.

Will definitley be returning all the time!! Cocktails were so fun (super sweet which is perfect for me) and a reasonable price. Our server was so kind (wish I grabbed their name, but we were there Wednesday evening, June 23 and it was so fab) and it was so speedy despite it being relatively busy. Can’t wait to come back :)
