This is a quality place, they gave my partner and I a complimentary champagne because we had just been married.The food is really tasty done to a high quality and most importantly the food had a decent portion that actually filled you up.It’s set in Padstow a beautiful river open village at the edge of Cornwall, the restaurant is tucked away and really helps you feel quaint, the best part is the friendly welcoming nature of the staff.I recommend the octopus

Food fantastic, friendly service but £18 for a kids meal? 3 chicken goujons, a few fries and some peas with a coke. I’m sorry but it really spoilt the occasion. I don’t mind paying a premium for my food but a few deep fried items for 13quid and a fiver for a small coke!?I also had to wait ages for my fries so the mussels were cold by the the time that arrived and the two tiny slices of bread were nowhere near enough.

Booked ahead but no need as a quiet Wednesday evening. Dog friendly. Really lovely atmosphere, soft music and candles lit, a lovely space to dine in the evening.However, I advised on my dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy intolerant) and was greeted with oh no

Nice food but when the bill came for two standard glasses of red wine it came to £9.95 per glass and £12.95 for a glass of white for my wife! I should have asked but no way expected such an inflated price, no warning , no prices on the menu. I’ll pay for good wine but I don’t pay that sort of money for a wine without a name or vintage. It was mediocre house wine. Ripping off customers ain’t cool….

Good food and excellent, speedy, service. Somewhat overpriced. Hake and black rice was fresh and perfectly cooked, but overpowered by the accompanying sauce. Chicken wings starter was tasty but over-sized - a smaller and cheaper portion would have been ideal. Good atmosphere but restaurant slightly too hot and stuffy.

Lovely staff who let us in with our dog... super friendly and great service! The food was delicious and tasted really fresh. We thought it was a bit overpriced for a burger and fish and chips, but that's what most of the restaurants in padstow charge so we weren't surprised and still had a lovely meal. The staff really make the restaurant!

The only restaurant we found in Padstow that was happy to seat us ( and feed us) after 9. Really nice food (Hake ) and friendly, efficient, speedy service. We've just cycled 80 miles from Landsend so appreciated some wholesome food. Thanks.

Ordered the squid and prawns to start, and by far the best starters I have had in a while and the prawns probably some of the best. We ordered the piggy burger and a bluecheese burger. Now we never finish a burger, but these were phenomenal. By far one of the best burgers we had ever eaten. Absolutely compliments to the chef, granted burgers can be easy, however many can be done wrong, these were perfect. Overall prices are higher, but I would rather pay more for excellent food. Would of liked to of seen staff a little more attentive and ideally not seeing the waitress yawning at 2pm hence the 4 stars... Overall would recommend, just from a staff POV, don't look tired around your guests.

What a hidden gem!I have been to padstow many times over the years and can’t believe I have never been here!The food was absolutely incredible with flavours out of this world. The octopus stew has to be one of the tastiest meals I have had in a very long time!Thank you for such a wonderful evening to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and 12 years together. We even had a complementary little pudding to have with our cocktails.Can’t wait to return!
