Woodfire Camping
Lovely campsite with excellent facilities. You can rent a fire pit from the site (they also sell logs) so you can relax and look out over the lambs playing in the next field.Lots of nice walks/pubs in the local area, so plenty of stuff to do in the day.Food is special - we had grilled chicken thighs with a wild garlic, tarragon, butter and white wine sauce, charred leeks & homemade flatbreads, which was genuinely excellent (there is a veggie option too!)Stella & Griff who run the campsite are also super friendly hosts who are happy to help with anything.Overall would really recommend!

A wonderful stay at a very special campsite. I was worried that it wouldn’t live up to the hype but it does and more! Stella and Griff are the perfect hosts. The facilities are immaculate and the best compost loos I’ve ever experienced. The big sky, wonderful walks, calm vibe and then there is the food. Wow! Absolutely delicious - the bowl of fresh popcorn with a glass of wine, the bbq tarragon chicken and the roasted beetroot. Bacon sarnies for breakfast. All served with a smile and a passion for elevating something simple into something special. Thank you!

What a campsite! The scenery is the best of the UK and there are loads of great walks and pubs close by.The showers and toilets are great, the water is absolutely lovely and fresh. You get the feeling they really care about the natural beauty of the area and it all feels very eco friendly.Excellent host - friendly and laidback, super helpful and generally just fab people. The bar and kitchen area are so idyllic and the food is GREAT. It’s all really hearty and flavourful food and you get to watch them prep which is fun.Special shout out to the rhubarb trifle we had on Saturday evening. One of the most delicious things I have eaten! We’ll be back soon :)

Absolutely gorgeous campsite just ten minutes from Petworth in the beautiful South Downs National Park. Owners Griff and Stella are incredibly warm and welcoming and make you feel like a regular/friend in the first few minutes. Griff cooks most nights (not Wednesdays) on an open grill in his wooden, safari-style kitchen and the food is sensational. On the night we were there it was chargrilled celeriac for the veggies, and bavette steak for the meat-eaters. Plus salad and the most delicious potatoes I've ever had. Incredible optional brownie for pudding! The camping is a mix of tents and small campervans in a lovely field with beautiful views of the Downs and nearby woods. There are also five bell tents for rent and these command the best view over the meadow next door. The showers - in partly open air wooden enclosures – are legendary and feel more like a wild spa than a campsite bathroom. The compost loos are immacuately kept and there's plenty of loo roll. Woodfire is small and intimate - this isn't a campsite for rowdy party animals - but we were a small group celebrating a birthday and easily managed to keep quiet after 10.30pm. Also very happy with the ban on radios, amplified sound, musical instruments etc. There are fire pits to rent and logs to buy if you haven't brought your own. Woodfire is also a nature-lovers paradise with beautiful Lavington Heath just a few minutes walk from the site. This is a site that's absolutely ideal for single travellers, small groups and families. Dogs are welcome (and free!) - just need to keep them on a lead around the site.

Woodfire is a stunningly beautiful place to get some time with nature.Stella and her team do amazing fire-cooked evening meals which was the reason we returned again this year.Camp facilities are minimal, but the loos and showers are all very well done. It’s super kid-friendly and they’ll have a blast running around the field and woods.

Relaxing camping heaven! Stayed here last month and was so in love we had to come back the following weekend. Stella is so welcoming and accommodating to her guests. A truly beautiful campsite with wonderful hosts, food and sunsets. Best showers I’ve ever experienced camping with fresh water from a spring. You must visit!!

Stella and the team were incredibly friendly and the breakfasts and coffee in the morning were fab.The campsite is set in a wonderful location with heathland and Downland walks easily accessible and a number of pubs located nearby. The loos and warm showers were spot on and its always nice to find somewhere to camp where you can have a fire.

Woodfire Camping is an amazing place, managed by an amazing group of people. Stella, Griff and the team were all very welcoming from the first email/phone call. We stayed in a pre-pitched bell ten (2 adults + 2 toddlers), and we could not have hoped for a better experience. Wonderful views, wonderful walks around the nature, and great great facilities... the hot showers are absolutely brilliant. We managed to walk to the neighbouring village shop and had a nice drink at the The Foresters Arms. If you are staying with young children, this is a good walk to do.Camp kitchen is awesome too. Although there was no vegan-option the night we stayed, Stella, Griff and the team were all very accommodating and we still had an amazing dinner. Coffee in the morning was very good too :)We will definitely be looking at coming back soon.

Just fantastic... Everything you could wish for in a campsite - beautiful views, indulgent hot showers, great location and even gourmet food cooked up on site. We have been twice and will be back again next year. Thank you Stella and the team for making our stay special.
