Recently, my wife and I went fly fishing with Alba in Scotland. What an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and fun. They proceeded to brief our relatively inexperienced group with basic instruction, including education about the salmon, the river and everything we needed to know. They helped us all get kitted up for our fishing on a chilly day. Then they sent each of us out on the river with their incredible guides. Such great individual care and coaching! They did a great job of adjusting to our skills to ensure we had a great time. What an incredible experience for my wife and I and our entire group. I have fished and hunted all over the world and I highly recommend Alba as a world class operation.

I had a very enjoyable day with guide Cuillin Rae of Alba Game Fishing, Ltd. The highlight of my first trip to Scotland. A life-long angler, it has been a bucket list goal of mine to cast on the historic River Spey.The history and traditional techniques of fly fishing on this storied water are respectfully shared by local landowners, ghillies, and guides. Each performs an essential role in carrying on these traditions allowing anglers like me to immerse themselves in the experience.Stewart Collingswood planned my day to the finest detail. Ghillie Ian Stronach met us and introduced me to his beat on the Upper Brae Water where Cuillin illustrated his expert knowledge and guided me in the traditional techniques of spey casting. Alba Game Fishing accommodated our schedule, and provided great communication, top notch gear, and a truly professional and fun guide. My daughter's boyfriend, Stephen, who had not fished with a fly rod before, and I (with a few decades of chasing many species in fresh and saltwater under my belt) had a wonderful time. Our guide, Cuillin, couldn't have been more companionable.I asked him to focus on Stephen getting into a fish, and that's just what happened. We are both so delighted to have landed some Scotish wild Grayling on the fly, including a specimen at 2lb that was Stephen's first fly caught fish.The tug is the drug, as they say. We both had many tugs and landed good sized fish. Just the experience I was hoping for. I highly recommend Alba Game Fishing. I will definitely use them again, if I ever get back that way.

We had an extraordinary fishing adventure with Alba Game Fishing and Stewart Collingswood. We have fished in many places all over the world, but never with a better guide, and never in such glorious surroundings. Stew was not only intimately familiar with the streams and lochs and cliffs and hidden gems of Scotland, he was an excellent teacher, a wonderful human being, and, by the end of the trip, a good friend. He took us to all kinds of places we never could have found on our own, got us access to numerous private lakes and streams that would not have been available to us without him, and he made sure, at every moment that we were with him, that we were comfortable, happy, and enjoying ourselves. He was flexible, accommodating, charming, and kind. And it was because of Stewart and the amazing vacation he created for us that, before we were a week into it, we had already re-booked with him for 2024! Do not, do not, do not miss the opportunity to fish and tour with Stewart and Alba.

We just spent the most amazing week in Scotland touring and fishing with Stewart of Alba Game Fishing. From day one pick-up until final drop-off, we felt so special and very well cared for. Everything, and I mean every detail is planned out and comes first class. The accommodations were deluxe, the transportation beyond comfortable, and the fishing sites were easily accessible and just pristine to enjoy. The attentive instruction given was very appreciated also. There is no better fishing tour in the country. Your expectations will be exceeded in every way.

This September we had a trip of a lifetime traveling with Alba Game Fishing throughout Scotland for twelve days. We loved it so much we have booked a trip once again next year. First, Stewart Collingswood and his staff are all super friendly, easy to be with, knowledgeable and ready to insure every detail of your tour is first class. I fished the Spey, Dee, Tweed and an Isle of Skye Loch and all of those days were productive and stunning with historic surroundings such as the Tulchan A beat of the Spey. Being with the infamous Ghillie John Anderson was a trip highlight. My wife fished the Dee with me one day but toured with Stewart on the other days that I fished. She found Stewart to be great company and comfortable to be with, extremely knowledgeable on everything Scotland and flexible to make certain every detail is perfect. Stewart arranged first class accommodations with gourmet meals throughout the visit. We would not change one thing about our trip and so look forward to traveling even further North to the Northern Isles of Scotland next year.

What a wonderful experience!! From start to finish Alba Game Fishing delivered!! Stewart was amazing to work with! We booked last minute and he was able to get us a great spot on the Whiteadder River. Cullin and John were wonderful! They clearly love what they do and are great teachers! They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful day! Truly can’t wait to return to Scotland and fish with them again!!!

I’ve been lucky enough to fish all over the world with more guides and guiding services than I could ever count. Alba was one of my favorite experiences to date, and I’m already counting down the days until I’m back in Scotland chasing Salmon with them.I really appreciated their approach to organization and communication. I knew exactly what to expect and what to bring way before my trip even occurred. Logistics with rides to the river and equipment were a breeze, and the instruction was world class.If you’re thinking about booking a trip, I can’t recommend it enough.

We spent a fantastic day with Stewart and the team so we could celebrate my Dad’s 70th birthday and achieve one of his big dreams to go fly fishing in Scotland. Stewart and the guys were amazing with us, knowledgable and patient. We had 4 kids ages 3-13 with is who enjoyed every minute and Stewart had organised extra help so that we could relax with those extra eyes on the little ones. The venue was beautiful, food delicious and the fish helpful too. It was topped off by the crowning my Dad with his very own dancer fly. A very happy family all round.
