Table booked. It was very cold where we were seated. I asked if we could move to another same size table explaining one of the party was not long out of hospital and she was very cold from a bad draft through the window.Waitress informed us no, as that particular table was reserved. We had to chase up for drinks order. I asked for mulled wine, to be told errrr I don’t think we do it. Not, I will check. We asked for a small cod on the menu to be told, it’s only on. The seniors menu. Yet it was on the main menu. We were told they could ask the chef to cut it but would be the same price! Two of us ordered the veg soup. This was like water. It tasted like tomato with a stock cube. Very unappealing. For mains, two of us ordered from the Festive Menu. The cheese and leek pie. It was dried up and both pieces had burnt parts on the side. The veg were very hard, just par cooked. The gravy was veg gravy and tastes like a cheap version of a well known brand. The fish looked like a steam roller had gone over it. I’ve never seen a flat cod before. She ate just under half and took the other home to see what her husband thought of it. We skipped desert and coffee. No one checked if we wanted more drinks or if everything was ok. We asked for the bill and ended up going to the bar to pay as we were so cold, fed up of waiting and wanted to leave.During the entire time we were there, 1.15 to 3.30, (most of this time sat waiting) no one sat at the other free table. We did tell someone else at the bar, who apologised.Won’t be going back.

Nice relaxed atmosphere and was really surprised at the quality of the food .? My daughter ordered the cheese pie and offered me a taste , it was probably one of the best ever, I'm a bit of a fussy eater with oils / sauces on my food and the waitress was so lovely and understanding and my sure my order was exact .Thank you for a lovely afternoon with fab food and great service .

7 of us went and the service was very slow. I had steak baguette which was full of gristle. The redeeming feature was the waitress was lovely.

We've been coming here for the past 4 years, and initially it was a great place to have a drink and have a bit to eat, but over the past 12 to 18 months, it's becoming less and less a place we want to spend time at, and after today's visit, we won't ever be going back. They introduced a rule this year that dogs aren't welcome after 5pm Friday and Saturday. If they are not welcome, we are not welcome. The food has slowly gotten worse, and we can't actually remember a visit where we were both happy with it for on the same visit. Today I had the fish and chips, which I should have sent back when it was placed on front of me, but I ate it and have felt sick for the past could of hours. There was so much oil on the plate that's all I could taste. Even the chips were over cooked and the fish batter was more oil than batter.Staff are great. Customers are great but somewhere along the way this place has lost its way.It was nice while it lasted

Great menu, tastey food, had the lunch time deal and it was fantastic value. The hummus starter is delicious, better than a Turkish restaurant in Glossop!!
