Sheffield War Memorial
Built in 1925 to commemorate the losses is Sheffield from the First World War, the 27 metre tall cenotaph is a Grade II listed structure.Originally in a traffic island, the memorial became the centre of a large pedestrianised square in 1989 when Barker's Pool was closed to traffic. Subsequent renovations have won awards.Every year, there is a large parade of all the military units in the city on Remembrance weekend.
