Reading Wado-Kai Karate Club
I’ve trained in Wado-Kai Karate with Sensei Rob from the Reading Karate Club for a long time. The Adult Karate Class on Monday nights is excellent with a really strong ethos on technical understanding of the Martial Art and practical applications of Karate technique. If you’re starting Karate, or a recent beginner looking for a Karate Club to take you further in your Wado-Ryu journey then Reading is fantastic Karate Class to get down to.The Children's Karate Class is also really strong for youngsters with a fun atmosphere and a great focus on learning.

Reading wado-kai is very welcoming. There is a lot of black belts and even if you're a beginner people are really welcoming and willing to teach you there is no discrimination. Sensei Rob has good connection with other surrounding wado-kai clubs. I love how he rotates his teaching sessions, one session it will be pad work to help focus with kumite, other session will be focus on kata where he breaks down the movement and it purposes. The club also teaches you the importance of pair work to help improve your ohyo. Very organise syllabus and interesting style of karate

I’ve trained regularly at the Reading club since 2016, and have progressed through all of the grades recently achieving black belt. Sensei Rob is a fantastic teacher, paying attention to the smaller details that help you learn karate correctly. The classes are varied and fun, Rob keeps everything fresh and interesting - you’ll fall in love with karate before you know it! The association offers multiple training classes across Berks/Hants so plenty of training time if you want to train frequently. A brilliant friendly training club, with lots of adult members - couldn’t recommend more!

Reading Wado-Kai Karate Club
I've gone to Reading Karate Club, training in Wado Kai Karate, for over a decade now, and even before the separated classes, my skill level has shot up. I managed to achieve a bronze in an international competition in my first year of training, and have since gotten a silver in the European championships, and my younger sister achieved a gold in her first year of training in that same competition. Now after the split between the children's karate class and the adult's karate class, I believe there is an even greater chance for quick improvement as classes are now more easily tailored to specific skill levels. An amazing club with an amazing sensei.

Reading Wado-Kai Karate Club
I started training at the Reading Wado-Kai karate club 7 years ago in the adult class. Everyone was really welcoming and there was a real range of grades there, so I didn’t feel too intimidated as there were plenty of other people who had recently joined, as well as senior grades who were great to follow during each session. Sensei Rob is a brilliant karate instructor. He is patient and dedicated, and always puts so much effort and thought into each training session. I have gotten so much out of learning karate, not to mention feeling more confident if I go out alone. I would really recommend the Reading Wado-Kai club, as it has such a welcoming atmosphere and its clear the association really cares about the development and progression of its members.
