The Birmingham Upright MRI Centre

Scan itself was fine but they only had one radiographer when they said its normally two, waited 20 minutes to be seen and the radiographer disappeared before my scan ended leaving the receptionist in control. Sat in the scanner for roughly 15 minutes after scan had ended before he came back, but he was very apologetic about the situation. It's also now 8 days later and I still haven't received the report, website states 2/3 days. I paid privately and am quite disappointed with the service.

I originally had a mri booked in Walsall manor hospital who just threw me into the machine without a walk through or any guidance which triggered my anxiety as well as being in a long tube with extremely loud clanging sounds which caused me to feel claustrophobic however from the second i stepped into the upright mri centre the staff was ever so friendly gave me a full walk through of the scan as-well as boosting my confidence to go ahead with it, i then met Ray who literally made me feel right at home from choosing a movie to watch as-well as asking if I'm ok through each step of the way, the machine was not loud at all and there was so much open space i did not feel any type of anxiety nor the feeling of suffocation as the room was very well spaced out they were so kind they even allowed my friend to come sit through my mri with me which boosted my confidence and the service i cannot praise enough over all it was an absolutely fantastic experience just wanted to say a big thank you and I'm very grateful for your hospitality and the way you treated me it was the smoothest calmest mri experience i ever had i would definitely recommend to everyone that has any type of anxiety issues or even suffer from the feeling of claustrophobia!! 5 stars without a doubt and thank you ever so much again!!!

Thanking all the staff for their kindness on behalf of my partner who came to have a scan today. My partner like so many people cannot do normal scanners as she is claustrophobic but she managed this with ease. we highly recommend this centre and all the staff for their kindness , friendliness and being so professional. Thank you all so very much for everything.

I had a scan at Birmingham mri centre tues 19th Sept 2017 after it was hard to find at first due been given wrong namber in Chester street but after getting there half an hour late due 3 car accidents on the way. We were half an hour late yet the centre were so kind and accommodating and understanding the radiograther whom was lovely and patient with me. The experience of the scanner was impressive also it wasnt enclosed so those whom fear claustrophobia dont needn't to worry as u not enclosed over the top at all the sides are closed to you but not enough to god anyone too feel trapped in Ì was in the scanner for any a 1hr 30 mins and watched a a sea video which I couldn't hear due to being deaf and wearing ear plugs too scan had to be restarted 3 times due to me twitching but the radiographer said most people move around more and the scan take even longer but she she was simpathetic Ì had a spinal hematoma and she was impressed Ì moved around far less than most patients she said. The mri centre was a impressive professional service whom recommend highly. I don't anything about the costs due too Ì went due a insurance claim due too a car accident Ì had though but I recommend their service very highly.

I suffer with acute anxiety and panic attacks and have tried to undergo conventional MRI scans on 3 occasions even with sedation, i lasted 4 mins in the scanner and came out severly distressed.My GP referred me to this centre for an open scan and oh my goodness i was able to have my scan without any problemsThe staff were superb, so caring and understanding of anxiety, totally reassured me throughout the scan and enaballed me to have a successful outcome.I cannot tell you how relieved and happy i was to have finally taken a step forward by getting this scan done.My sincere thanks to you all xx

Absolutely fantastic. After 2 failed attempts due to panic attacks/claustrophobia (i was sedated for 1) at my local hospital in a conventional tube MRI, the upright MRI is an entirely different experience which I completed with ease. My GP got the CCG to fund my MRI scans & I got my appointment within 2 days of funding approval. A seamless professional service, without which I simply could not have had my scans done. 10/10.

Staff are friendly, helpful and professional.Carpark is large and has easy access.The open scanner is excellent.

Went along this morning for a head and cervical spine scan excellent staff two lovely ladies made me feel at ease very welcoming and really treated me excellent thank you very much

Visited Birmingham upright mri today after 2 failed attempts at another hospital because of my claustrophobia ,was met by sarah who was extremely caring and helpful and no problem at all ,the whole experience was superb and would always come back ,big thankyou to sarah and ray for super service many thanks colin
