Not very good. We tried twice because the fish and chips were poor the first time - can happen. Chips seemed reheated, greasy. We asked for the fish to be well done because the batter was uncooked on the inside on the first visit - unfortunately, same again. And it's expensive. The food is nicely presented, but something is wrong with the preparation. Not a patch on e.g. Seaton Chipper. It's a shame, we live close and want to like this chipper, but it's just not very good.

Placed order online, given pickup time , still waited an extra 20 mins. Quality of food was poor, standard haddock had more fish on it than the large. Chicken fillets for the kid was good though. Chips were either recorded or old as they were tough and like warm. Not a great first impression but easy to say I won't be back.

This has to be some of freshest chippie food I've had in a long long time. Usually find places are good with fish with freshness but neglect puddings but not SS&L. White pudding was great, usually I'd avoid because they can be dry having sat for ages but not here. Fish batter was special and considering it sat for about 10 minutes while we got home etc there was no sogginess. We'll definitely be back and welcome to Cove!

Worst haggis supper ever, haggis and batter dry , chips dry and small, hate waste but couldn't be bothered finishing it even though portion was small

I had the large fish supper with panko bread crumbs which was cooked perfectly! There may have been a sneaky side of onion rings too which were obviously homemade and extremely tasty! Staff were pleasant and were on top of what they were doing, I was only in the shop a matter of minutes picking up my online order :-)

It’s not somewhere that you would go to eat it’s more of somewhere that you would pick it up and eat it at home firstly the atmosphere was ok because it’s tidy and of the LED lights and secondly the service was ok because when I went to order at the chippy the person seemed disinterested but maybe I’m being a bit picky and lastly their fish and specials are quite nice but it just THE PRICE!

I ordered haddock and Scampi.I received what tasted like Pollock and the scampi was watery and rubbery.I won't be back at this establishment, not recommended.The only good point was the friendly staff.

Where’s to begin the delivery time kept getting moved back, why accept an order if you can’t fulfill it .Then when you call the premises to query they’d answer the call then ask you to wait and continue a conversation with someone else. Ignore you were serving another customer either get a colleague to answer the call or simply leave it to ring.Then when I asked my query I got told not my issue contact deliveroo when this was a justeat order!!

Clean and tidy place to visit I went in and there was a few people picking up there orders and everything is freshly cooked so there’s no waste. The red pudding I had was still piping hot by the time I got home so keep up the good work
