Faringdon Folly Tower
Quirky wooden sculptures (including 22 of the four and twenty blackbirds, whose addition was inspired by the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence, which was written by Faringdon poet Henry James Pye) are hidden amongst the trees of this small woodland that perches on top of Folly Hill. Small children and adults alike enjoy seeking them out. There's a giant hare looking towards the Uffington White Horse (which you can see on a clear day) an owl, a giraffe - and a troll who keeps careful watch from his hole-in-a-tree lair. It's an easy ten minutes walk up the hill from the road below (parking for several cars on the roadside). The tower itself is open from 11 on the first and third Sunday of each month. Views from the top, I imagine, are spectacular.

Faringdon Folly Tower
Pretty small, good for a shorter walk. Tower is closed unless you book in advance on the rare occasion it's open.

Faringdon Folly Tower
What a great little adventure this was. A lovely enchanted wood surrounding this Useless" Tower (not my words) which is filled with wood carvings of creatures. See my photos for many of the wood and metal carvings and see how many you can find. Great place for Pokemon Go players too. Good signal on your phone and amazing 360° views."

Beautiful place for a walk , it’s up a hill and not wheelchair friendly unfortunately. It’s been a little while since I visited but it s a great place for a quiet stroll or for children to use up some energy.

Faringdon Folly Tower
Gorgeous place, really fun searching for all the carvings, the trees shield from the wind so you get the amazing view with none of the disadvantages. Really well maintained. Lovely place for a short walk or a picnic.

Nice quiet peaceful place to walk up to from Faringdon town. There are lots of benches on the circular walk around the hill. Sit and take in the beautiful views.
