Undertook hip replacement surgery on Friday 26 May 2023 and following visits at the pre assessment centre I want the opportunity to express my huge thanks to all the staff, nurses and my consultant. From the moment I entered the doors to the young porter helping me to the car on exit, everyone, without exception has been absolutely amazing; professional, courteous, helpful and ensuring my dignity was respected at all times. My experience here has left me in no doubt that we take these very special people for granted, thank you all so much.

Initial consultation in March (rescheduled 3 times) for minor key hole surgery on my knee, which over the last year has got worse, in excruciating pain. Surgery booked now 5 times and cancelled / rescheduled. My most recent one due this morning, got a call yesterday evening saying you are not priority and we have to cancel again. Got told appointment rescheduled in 2 weeks definitely won't be cancelled (heard that one before) so now seeking private options, no faith or confidence in this hospital, don't read the notes on account before bumping you off the list, and then sound surprised when told, this has happened 5 times before. Avoid if you can

I am extremely impressed with the whole team of many individuals who took such good care of me during my time at the Royal orthopaedic, I was treated with respect, courtesy and kindness at all times by every member of staff, nurses and all. I cannot express how truly grateful I am. I thank each and every one of you.

Was referred here for the first time for my hip, so didn’t really know my way around. Everyone was lovely except for the two rude and unhelpful receptionist at outpatients who can’t even be bothered to speak to you, and then belittle you when you ask for help.

Attended yesterday with myElderly Brother having great difficulties with his right hand. Have had to wait 10 months after Initial appointment but so pleased with the service and care and efficiency. Mr Jose so caring and thorough and professional and a plan for op in the near future. The positive effect this has had for my brother was received with great relief. A big thank you to all the team.

I was sent straight from A&E to the ROH as I needed emergency spinal surgery. You couldn't ask for anything more. All staff members were wonderful. Polite, courteous, funny, knowledge, reassuring, professional and simply perfect. Just the best service and care you could possibly imagine.Update. I've needed to reduce my 5 star review given my recent experiences with the hospital. I had a CT scan booked for yesterday. This was cancelled and I was notinformed. It takes me 45 minutes to 1 hour to get to the hospital. This is the second time an appointment has been cancelled and I have not been informed. The care I received on my initial visit was excellent. The aftercare has not been great.

This email is being sent on behalf of Mrs Ann Reynolds.Ann had a hip replacement operation performed by Mr Va Faye. It was a difficult and complex operation and she was in Hospital for 7 days. She would like to thank all the staff that looked after her on Ward 4 and especially Mr Va Faye for his kindness and the excellent result he achieved.

I am so grateful to all the staff at the Royal Orthopaedic hospital. I was treated with kindness and care. All the staff were so professional, everything was explained to me about my procedure. I felt at ease and confident in the care I received. A really lovely hospital!

This hospital really has gone from bad to worse, years ago I would have recommended it to anyone, sadly not now.The departments haven't a clue what they are doing, and that includes PALS, you can't raise concerns, you get left for nearly a year, and get left medically in situations that is just outright disgraceful to be honest. The trust really has lost its way, and some people now work there who definitely do not match what they say there trust values are.My consultant told me he is 'all about patient care, yet leaves you to suffer and well words can't really describe the situation I've been left in.My advise is go somewhere else, they may have better waiting times here than other hospitals (I think now there's a reason for that) but i would just stay away from this hospital.
