Dan Armstrong - Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon

Had my wrist rebuilt by Dr Armstrong a few years ago after a nasty bicycle crash.His advice on having my Radius joint re aligned and plated was excellent. He also screwed my Scaphoid back together aswell. Year on year my wrist joint keeps getting better and I don't think this would have been possible if it hadn't been re set and lined up properly by Dr Armstrong and his team. It has ensured the longevity of my wrist joint probably decades into the future! If it had been left as is I am sure I would have regretted not having this fantastic operation. Everything went perfectly and I could not be happier. Thanks for your skills and expertise.

I went to see Dan Armstrong after 7 year of pain from an incident at work. I had severe pain in my hand, elbow and shoulder.I had reached a point where I couldn't bear the weight of a glass of water or use a knife and fork.Dan was very understanding and thorough with his consultation. I was given several options for treatment, with an operation as a last resort. Firstly, I opted for a steroid injection at the base of my thumb and hand therapy, also, Dan referred me to a specialist for my elbow and shoulder. Following correction for displacement in my elbow and shoulder and the steroid injection I was still in need of further intervention for my thumb/hand pain.After a year of therapy, I decided that surgery was necessary. I had a trapeziectomy , removal of the trapezium bone in the wrist. The surgery was very straight forward done as a day patient. As Dan had warned me, the recovery, initially, was very painful; however, the results have been fantastic. I now have full use of my hand, my target of being able to open a champagne bottle achieved.The scarring is minimal, regular moisturising and hot wax treatments really helped with healing and the cosmetic look of the scar.Dan is very professional, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. He is outstanding in his field of excellence.

I had a rare bone disease in my right wrist (Keinbocks). I had bones and nerves removed by Mr Armstrong. He is a fantastic surgeon and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
