5 stars. I went with my son to get his University books. What a collection! What a place! Quiet, neat, stacked appropriately based on subjects. A must visit if you are coming to Edinburgh.

This is a great bookshop. Housed in a sprawling building, I wandered through Blackwell’s from room to room, downstairs then upstairs, exploring and looking for a book that had just recently been published. I ended up asking a staff member where I might find the book. She looked in their computer, found they had one copy and tried to find it for me, to no avail. So, she looked up another bookstore in Edinburgh, found they had it in stock, and recommended I look there, which was super kind of her. I have very high praises for Blackwell’s Bookshop and it’s staff.

Had a lovely visit and experience here. We ordered a book in store and picked it up days later when in stock due to two very helpful staff members. Amazing amounts of books, boardgames and TCG.

Its on renovation so the ground floor a lil bit messy, but the first floor is so huge and lovely. The book selection is great, they have some sofa and chair in the middle too!

Great bookshop with a fantastic selection of books for both students and townies alike, including all those textbooks you need for that lecture. If you're not a student, then just wander in for a browse and find that perfect book you didn't know you needed. A special note of appreciation goes to Richard, who spent a lot of time helping to track down an extremely rare, out of print course book, then phoning Newcastle for me so that I could arrange delivery to London. Thanks to his efforts, I will be doing all of my book shopping in Blackwells in the future.

A very huge shop with lots of books and sections. The shop is very organized and you can find lots of books from various genres. There is even a dedicated section for Scottish books. I was very surprised by the Economics section which had lots of good books. They also provide a small discount based on the cost displayed on their website(very weird to be honest). The customer service was also great. Do visit the shop if you are interested in reading books. You can also get painting and drawing accessories from this bookshop.

I was a little hesitant to order from the site because they offered free shipping to the US and the cost of the book I wanted (Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia Of Faeries- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) was pretty low. I verified that the store was legit and placed the order. I received the book so fast! It was at my door in Arkansas in less than a week and with free shipping! Other UK bookstores charge almost $20 for shipping. They sell the book I ordered in the US but the UK version has a different cover and I wanted both editions. I'm so impressed with this store and offering free US shipping that I will be ordering more books from them often!

Located in the old James Thin building you'll find a great collection of books and extremely useful staff. Down in the basement you'll find a superb selection of Manga, D&D and boardgames. Great shop.

This place is way bigger than it looks from the outside. Wonderful layout! They're doing some renovations at the time of writing this, and it's still lovely.Also appreciated the cafe ☺️
