1066 Roofing & Guttering

Absolute charlatan! Do not use this company! Poor workmanship and then slippery as hell trying to get the problems resolved. Still trying to pin him down ... I wish I had never used him. I’ve reported him to the Confederation of Roofing Contractors.

After having some difficlty getting my receipt and guarantee - I can now say that everything has been seen to satisfactorily.

Had 1066 to install a Velux window in the roof, but the mess they made was horrific, didn't clear up and trod it all through the hallway, it wasn't until I made a fuss that they decided to clear away some of the large lumps, (mainly moss off the tiles all of which made heavy black marks on carpets) but the main clear up was left to us the customer. the window asked for was to be a Velux, but on checking once they had gone found to be a cheaper make and probably won't last! And once finished he wanted his money there and then on the spot..........We asked also for a blind, but the one he supplied broke up before fitting it, a replacement was due to be fitted soon!!!!! Incidentally, we never had a written quote nor an invoice both of which were asked for. He is playing with fire here as he does not know my professional connections!Just beware, as a trademan myself with high qualifications I find his workmanship well below standard and nothing like a tradesmans work. The window leaked and leaked to the point that Sharpless wasn't coming round to fix the problem/s we finaly had enough as our tempers were fraying very badly as being over 70 years of age and conned out of money for a professional job (Cobblers!). We said enough is enough and sought the services of a professional roofer who said not only was the installation wrong but the seals on the window were badly damaged and the roof would have to be reopened up and a new window fitted. A proper scaffolding was erected and the roof was opened up to a shamble of cover up workmanship, deplorable!! At the cost of a new Velux windw against what was supposed to be fitted orinally and replacing many roof tiles of which were incorrectly fitted, we now have peace of mind that the window and roof are sound from the whether conditions.As I said be very aware of Wallic Sharpless if he calls upon you, he has been inside for conning old people in Kent, you could end up being yet another of his scams.

Unfinished faulty work, slippery customer relations, terrible communication. 'Insurance backed' and '20 year guarantee' utterly meaningless and untrue. Removed from the Confederation of Roofing Contractors. Our roof (patchwork quilt) leaks, water going through the electrics and causing a growing crack in our ceiling behind the light fitting.. Quote included “fix/replace defective guttering”, but several guttering points remain untouched, defective and leaking. Some ‘repairs’ consisted of a squirt of mastic into the joins. Wallace Sharpless the proprietor as been promising to address the unfinished work and leaking roof for 10 months now. He never shows or calls, a variety of excuses too long to list, blaming his workmen, bad knee, family problems, broken phone, the weather etc. He just says what you want to hear. When I suggested he was lying and had no intention to come, he became very offensive.The flat roof which we’d specifically arranged to be replaced in EPDM rubber was changed mid-job to felt, something to do with gaps in the boards. I’d asked him at point of quoting whether they would replace boards if necessary, and he’d assured me they would, with OSB, but didn't.… very frustrating experience, waiting in for no-shows, lots of chasing for nothing. PLEASE AVOID!!

These guys did a such a shoddy job, made an incredible mess and then didn't give me an invoice or guarantee, which I was promised. I would save yourself the worry and DO NOT USE this company or any of the other alias companies he uses. Please read all of the other comments to see his other business names. He and is workers are complete and utter Charlatans!

Terrible people. Quoted one figure then charged nearly double saying it was a bigger job than expected. The job they did was poor quality and they nearly flooded the place too by dislodging a pipe in the loft.

Avoid at all costs they boarded my loft, well screwed some boards down anyway, shoddy work, unskilled workers, untidy, no customer care whatsoever. I feel proper conned. Please just do not use, these or their other name Southern Loft Renovations. The owner hides behind different companies. This lot should be on watchdog or Rogue Traders. Do not trust the name Wallace Sharpless.

Very professional had the whole roof done on the 06/1/19 and friendly can't fault anything clean and tidied the mess up after themselves fully recommend reasonably priced thank you Wallace and the team.

Absolutely useless....don't know anything about roofing. Uses at least 6 non existing different company websites, no invoice provided despite chasing every week. Never returned to repair roof, phones have now been disconnected. Name of main man is WALLACE SHARPLESS. Do a search then decide! Wish I had known. Numerous CCJs against him and will have another coming his way soon. Reported to kent Council and taking to small claims court. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Replaced downpipe fell off the wall following first rainfall. Guttering leaked in 2 places. Spoke to Wallace of 1066 to explain - he said he'd get back to me. He didn't and now doesn't answer calls from me. Roofing work was messy and unprofessional with a lot of hazardous debris left behind. I begrudge leaving 1 star.
