Only had food here which was amazing, fresh and well cooked. The service was superb especially one waitress who is definitely undertaking her vocation superbly well. Good choice, great views could not fault it.

Lovely hotel, amazing staff, great food & fab location on river front close to local bus stops. Friendly & helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Fab little Crows Nest lounge & sun terrace too. Rooms very comfortable & well maintained. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

We visited today for a Sunday carvery and was extremely disappointed! We booked through recommendation as it was highly rated on the local Facebook group. I can honestly say that todays standard was awful! The food tasted old! Yorkshire puddings were cold, stale and dripping with fat (frozen then deep fried I believe), hard roast potatoes, tasteless vegetables! If sure a lot of the food was prepared and reheated yesterday! I wouldn’t recommend to others. Maybe today was an off day! Myself, my mother and children came away extremely disappointed. I won’t revisit.

Nice little hotel close to the river in Looe. Just went there to have our dinner. Service was great, food was very high quality and imaginative. A little on the expensive side, but a great experience.

Lovely hotel in beautiful Looe. Ideally suited for the town and to drive out to explore. The hotel is fairly modern, but the classic room we had was very basic, especially the toilet and shower, which seemed to look like a tardis. It was situated in a corner of the bedroom. Food was mediocre, too.

The Portbyhan Hotel is on the west side of the Looe river, right in the centre of town. It has large picture windows that provide panoramic views across the estuary to the fishing port. In truth we only called in for morning coffee, but nonetheless received a warm welcome on arrival. The coffee and service were good, and the price was very acceptable given the hotel environment. The only slight drawback from my perspective was the lack of dedicated parking, and Looe can get very busy, which could prove a challenge for the less able or when carrying luggage.

Visited June 2022 with Parry's. Fantastic staff, lovely hotel clean pleasant rooms. I have Coeliac disease so obviously gluten free. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Gluten free food ( especially scones) was delicious. Great place to stay.

Fabulous four nights here with Edwards Coach Tours. Lovely location, comfortable rooms and terrific food. Included excursions to Truro (superb cathedral) and Plymouth only added to vfm.

My home away from home (just around the corner). Staff always welcoming and accommodating, even to random requests, and also to my dog. Dinner last night was amazing, a rare treat beyond my usual tea and weekend toast (and occasional chips); phenomenally generous portions, and cooking exemplary.

Just there for a drink on the 1st floor terrace. Staff were lovely, the terrace was clean, cosy, had heaters and had a fantastic view. Modern bar with a harbour view. Loved it.
