Gregory and Tesseras Blacksmiths

Recently did an axe forging day with James and Pedro. Really enjoyed it. They were great teachers - very patient as I have little to no blacksmithing experience and answered any questions I had throughout the day. Great fun, great company and I got a fully functioning axe at the end of the day. Would recommend taking a course and I'm already thinking about my next project.

Had a question which needed answering by a specialist. These guys were extremely generous with their knowledge, were patient and listened to me carefully. I also got invited to come and have a look at their workshop. Based solely upon my experience with this company, I wouldn't have any doubt in choosing them for any work that needed doing. Highly recommended.

Had a great forging day at GT blacksmiths. They got us using various techniques and tools. lunch and a well deserved beer at the end was included.James and Pedro were very supportive tutors without being too hands on.We made the the individual components for our hanging basket bracket which they put together and finished off.In short, highly recommended.

We commssioned James and Peter to make us a handrail and asked that it look organic and flowing whilst meeting the requirements of building regs. They were brilliant at interpreting our ideas and presenting us with computer aided images so we would know what we were getting. The finished product exceeded our expectations and they were lovely people to work with. We also loved spending a couple of hours in the workshop being taught some basics so we could have our own input into the finished product.

A day forging with these guys was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday. Their enthusiasm and passion for the craft leaps out at you as they teach you their craft, as well as when you look through their Instagram, which is full of ridiculously intricate and technical commissioned projects. They put a lot of work into designing the project we ended up making on my visit, and they use a wide range of skills to complement their artistic abilities like CAD and even a bit of computer programming :)They're suuuuper friendly, are able to support and guide novices effortlessly, and enable them to create awesome pieces of work that deserve pride of place in their home.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you need some fantastic ironwork in any style.11/10 :)
