Black Mountains Gliding Club
I had a trial flight in June 2018 and enjoyed it so much I went back for another flight the next day! Very experienced, knowlegeable and friendly instructors as were all the staff and members at the club . Stayed at the club in our motorhome for the night - a great location.

Black Mountains Gliding Club
Very friendly gliding club well used to accommodating groups from other gliding clubs wanting to take advantage of their excellent ridge and wave soaring opportunities. Camping available on site for visiting pilots.This would be a great place to come for gliding experience days as the ridge and wave soaring make for interesting flights that many glider pilots don't experience until they have been flying for quite some time.Experienced instructors, friendly tug pilots and members.Highly recommended!!!!!!!!

Richard Smith.This was my first time gliding and it was an amazing and exhilarating experience. Once you’re in the air it is such a peaceful and beautiful place with wonderful views over several counties. The instructors are very experienced and provide excellent tuition and give you the opportunity to take over the controls yourself while at the same time telling you about the the terrain you are flying over and what you can see from the cockpit. A truly memorable experience, just wish I had the time to do it on a regular basis.

I was thrilled to be given a flight as a present, if a little nervous. I absolutely loved it. I was worried about take off and landing, but they are way calmer than in a plane. This meant I could absolutely enjoy the fabulous views, and marvel at how close one can get to a sheep without its blinking an eye. I have been coming to the Black Mountains all my life and adored getting this bird's eye view. The running commentary from my pilot was hilarious and the welcome from the club was so warm and reassuring. A great present. I am giving a flight to my husband for Christmas! You should too...

A great experience with some of the nicest people I've ever met. I'll refrain from going into detail, but our Jaguar failed to start and we were well looked after. The trial lesson has really given me a buzz to seek a local club to glide. Thanks to all all Black Mountains Gliding Club.

My first gliding experience was a birthday present from my family. I was not dissapointed, a perfect day soaring over the Black Mountains gave a different perspective to countryside I have spent a lifetime exploring. You will be made very welcome, highly recommended.

A wonderful afternoon courtesy of a gift from my wife and a friendly, enthusiastic team at a beautifully situated airfield. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived and after a safety briefing the gliding was fantastic. I was able to take control of the glider during our flight over the Black Mountains.Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience today! Came for my boyfriend to use his voucher and I was able to pay on the day. Instructor was fab and the views were stunning! I even got to take over the controls during the flight. Caught lots of thermals too. The other members on site were also super friendly!

What a fabulous experience. Got mine as a present and on the day paid to send my wife up. Both of us had great instructors. Got good thermos and got to fly on my flight. Quite exhilarating at times. Well worth it. Ground crew were really pleasant and helpful. Thanks everyone.
