Very caring towards my 15 year old cat who spent the day with them unexpectedly (having been transferred from an out of hours vets). He got great treatment, everything thoroughly checked and all information recited to me in a manner that was easy to understand. They explained his future treatment plan and asked if I was happy with it. Was refreshing to be consulted rather than told!

I have just had the most awful experience with the practice which began after i queried a prescription and had to ask for it to be amended twice. The receptionist made every attempt to deter me from having it amended and after speaking to the vet once to have changed, although amended, it still was incorrect so had to ask again. The receptionist made unrealistic suggestions about how to get the medication i wanted and made every attempt to avoid asking the vet again. After she walked off i assumed it was to speak to the vet but that was not the case and the outcome of that was totally unexpected and unprofessional. I have put in a complaint and have taken it to a higher level . If there is anything positive to say about this practice, i have dealt with some amazing staff and terrific vets who have gone beyond for me and my dog. Unfortunately they have left. But that does not mean that of those that are still there, all but one, they would not be professional in every possible way and give your pet the best care. My complaint concerns 3 individuals and they will know who they are.. I have now registered with another practice due to the awful experience i had with those involved

I had an appointment for my dog and cat to get an advocate prescription. This is just a piece of paper needed for ordering prescriptions online. All they needed to do was weigh our pets and make sure they were ok to recieve it. We waited an hour with no explanation why were not being seen. People would show up and be seen immediately. The reception never mentioned why we were not being seen. We were told 5 minutes, so we waited longer with more people just showing up and being seen. I dont usually mind waiting, but this was literally a paper they needed to give us. The worst part was not being told why we waited so long. We walked out because we thought it would be the best choice to not keep our pets waiting any longer.

If you love your pet as much as we did, do not take your beloved, furry friend here. Missed diagnosed our little doggies condition, and they were desperate to sell us the medication as in their opinion he desperately needed.Sadly, this was not the case, and a few weeks later my partner and I had to make a difficult decision to put him to sleep..As you can imagine, my partner and I were in a terrible state.We were fortunate that we had some planned time away.On our return, we received debt collection letters from a third-party.Once we receive these letters, we immediately paid the outstanding invoice, and as far as we were concerned, that was the end of it.We then continued to receive letters and threatening text messages to both our phones, chasing us for payment, although this invoice had already been paid.I rang pets at home, and although very angry, the reception I received was disgusting and in the end they hung up the phone on me. Please please please please don’t take your beloved, furry friend here.To be reminded of this awful day over the coming weeks was terrible. My partner was so upset, it felt like we were going through the motions yet again.

Dan Makin is an exceptional vet, we wont go anywhere else - Max our cat has been described as well behaved and easy to handle by Dan - but this is down to Dan understanding Max and his needs because he is not like this with other vets we have used prior to moving to Dorset.Max is a large cat nearly 14 years old and knows who he likes and who he doesnt like but when Dan holds Max in his arms, Max is calm and I have never seen a vet handle Max in this way which re assures me that Max is happy during and after any treatment.Dan and his team care go the extra mile for the animals and owners, we are not local to Poole about a 30 minute drive from the practice but we wont go any where else for his treatment and care.Thank you Dan for being so caring to Max and to his fussy Mum - you are so understanding and exceptional in your role of being a Vet - we are lucky to have you as our vet

Monty got groomed today and had an extra Christmas spa treatment.The groomer was lovely and Monty came out smelling gorgeous and lookong handsome
