I don’t normally write negative reviews but I’m afraid I have found Ashtons slow and uncommunicative. Our conveyancer has changed three times without notice or introduction and I’m not even sure who is looking after us now. I understand that people go off sick and are “busy” but we are paying well over £2000 to have a house conveyed and in any case I would expect better from such a firm.

My partner and I worked with Ashtons legal when purchasing our house, both for conveyancing with Amy and for arranging a declaration of trust with Grace. Amy has been very prompt in chasing the sellers solicitor, and great with providing us with the necessary documents and answering all our questions/concerns, as well as spotting red flags during the process. Grace has also been great to work with. Our declaration of trust was relatively complex due to the different amounts we each contributed to our deposit and the way we wanted profits to be split if we sell our home. Grace drafted the declaration of trust in a way that exactly reflected our needs and in a relatively short time, well ahead of exchanging. I could not recommend more!

We contacted Aston's after a friends recommendation. We had tried four other legal teams, all of which said they couldn't help us and we didn't have a case.Amanda Cavanagh dealt with our claim. She was absolutely excellent. She kept us informed every step of the way. And handled our case very promptly and professionally. We cannot recommend her enough. And would recommend Aston's to anyone.

Absolutely terrible service. We brought our first home, and we used Ashtons Legal as they were recommended to us. They kept asking us to fill out forms we have already done, and they lost important information. They delayed us moving in fot 2 months. I felt the company was very sexist, I would send emails and get ignored but my partner would send an email and get an answer very quickly. It got to the point where we almost pulled out and they have ruined the experience of buying your first home. Taylor whimpey have taken them off their recommendation list due to their poor service, and we will never recommend this company again.Absolutely awful solicitors.

Mike Upton in my experience is the ultimate professional. I cannot express how much help and confidence Mike has shown to me with my case.despite the world dealing with covid and he himself having his own personal heartaches. He has constantly been there for me giving me confidence in him and his team.Originally my case was quoted as being worth £17000. After Mike had seen all of the previous correspondence he got to work.Through Mike's hard work the case ended up being worth £95000 to me a life changing amount.I cannot say thank you enough.As ex armed forces my biggest compliment could only be. We have used Ashtons for many years now. We live in Spain and they are always accommodating when we wish to see them. My son is moving and knowing how long his solicitor has taken to do things it has really made me appreciate the prompt service we alwqays get from Ashtons.

We chose to go with Ashtons Legal as there was a Cambridge office and there were a fair few good reviews. The experience we have had with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. Our case got assigned to someone at the Bury St Edmunds office - which was fine as due to COVID most stuff would be done through emails anyway. When we were given a case handler, we were told he would be in touch but we did not hear from them at all until we chased them 4 weeks after and had to call around the offices to get any form of contact. There was terrible lack of communication, with us never getting replies until we chase on emails and calls. We were told things had been done and then further down the line it was admitted that they hadn’t been done. Our process has taken 26 weeks and we still haven’t completed yet. Our case handler went off and we were not informed by him until the night before that he was going. We submitted a formal complaint and the Partner then took on our case, he did get things moving quicker at that point but it took a formal complaint for this to happen and so far we have been offered no form of compensation for the stress and uncertainty this has caused. Communication is key in processes like this and we personally feel like Ashtons Legal have nowhere near provided the services we should’ve received, especially for the money we are paying.

Absolutely awful service!Writng a review on behalf of a relative and colleague.The recent service and experience a colleague of mine has had has been absolutely awful.. the worse customer services ever! The solicitor keeps making mistakes, asking for forms and docs they have, which have already been completed weeks ago. When challenged, the solicitor makes excuses rather than taking ownership or responsibility for their own internal mistakes. The solicitor has behaved rudley on a few occasions, slow in replying to anything. A long process, a very painful experience, the solictor is consistently very unhelpful. AVOID this company, Absolutely AWFUL.
