Friendly staff, and a good varied, and reasonably priced menu. Egg and chips for £3, and a coffee for £1.50, for example, is hard to beat. It's close to the market and always quite busy, but that's not surprising. If you want posh food, then it's perhaps not the place to go, but if you want a decent town centre café that serves everyday food at every day prices by every day friendly people, you would be hard pressed to find anywhere better in Ashton.Only had cheese on toast and a drink first time I visited here. Returned a week later for a breakfast that was excellent. Sausage that was succulent without being too spicy, thick bacon than wasn't too salty, nicely cooked egg with yolk that was cooked but still runny, and hot beans and tomatoes. It cost an extra 50p for a slice of toast but even with that added the cost was extremely reasonable (cheaper than a Tesco breakfast for example). Excellently cooked and excellent value.

It's meant to be a café but won't sieve you cup of coffee or a cup of tea unless you are having a meal I always thought that café was a place to have a cup of tea or coffee.

Had fish chips and mushy peas with a nice pot of tea and loved it. I was even asked if I like my fish lightly battered or well done, which I thought was nice.My wife also ordered a full breakfast and commented that she would definitely order it again. Everything was nice and hot, and she loved every mouthful. The food is reasonably priced and well worth a visit

Sat here eating, food was brought out incorrect. Then when brought out with the additional extras the mushrooms wasn’t fried and smelt like feet! I refused to pay for them.. plate covered in water and grease. No wonder it’s just pensions come in here
