I cannot understand how these guys are still trading as they have not adapted to the way we shop now. It's a mix of stationary, magazines and books.

Shocking service. My daughter went to the checkout having made her selection. She questioned the price of some folders as the shelf edge label displayed was for a lower price. The cashier turned to a male colleague and his response was Naa not for 3 folders, the system is always right and the labels wrong. That was the sum total of the conversation with no checking of the shelf edge label. Our response to this was to go and buy all my granddaughters stationary requirements from another retailer.

Good service and well stocked shopped. What makes this a better than average place is the fact that there is also a post office within the premises. The PO is equipped with self service counters as well as manned positions. Several staff are also on the front to advise customers which would be the most favourable outlet for them.

Started to use the post office here, which is now based inside the WHSmith. It is hit and miss as to how busy it will be, but there are three self-service posting machines - which are relatively easy to use. They have a member of staff hovering around this area to assist you - but sometimes it can take them a bit to get over as they might be helping somebody on one of the other self-service points. Staff always friendly and willing to help, even at peak times.

Where are the books?I had been into Waterstones a few doors down and decided to have a browse in WH Smith straight afterwards only to be greeted by a bookstore with barely any books!A small section stuffed into the corner at the front of the store was all I found. The rest of the store was toys, stationary, chocolate and magazines.A bookstore without any books? What next? KFC without any chicken?

WH Smith's was up to its usual 1st class standard, as was the post office which share the premises which was the real reason we were there. Unfortunately the first class post office has now been taken over and all the loyal experienced staff made redundant. Very sad times. Britain is loosing the plot.

What a dreadful experience , shop assistant thinks it’s ok to belittle and bully potential customers. Have put the stationary back, left the shop feeling anxious. Won’t happen again. I will shop elsewhere. I hope one day someone behaves as badly and aggressively to her

Went in to use the post office, had to give up as there was a long queue and only one counter open. Crazy to think this is the central post office for a big town and one person was dealing with complicated queries and completed 2 transactions in the 10 minutes I waited (queue was much longer)
