James Barclay Oriental Carpets

I was not expecting the high calibre, exceptional service that James Barclay has delivered!!!After Louis came round to give a quote for the cleaning of the rug, they offered to sew up the edges of the rug and to restore the rug to its almost original condition. Louis told me instantly upon seeing the rug, that it was from 1915 and explained its history and origin to me - I knew that the rug was in safe hands.They made this carpet look as good as new, mainting its rustic historic look - they hand washed and by hand, sewn up the ripped parts of the rug to make it 100%.Truly rug specialists at heart!

Great service and care - so appreciate the way my rugs have been improved in colour, from cleaning, and appearance, from repairing. All extremely good and a big thank you to Luis who took a lot of trouble in collecting/ repositioning on delivery!

Ribena sill****! We rang, they came, quoted a good price, rolled up the rugs, took them away and cleaned them, and did some minor repairs.The rugs came back looking better than ever. Pretty much perfect service.

This antique Caucasian rug was inherited in dreadful condition having been overused. James Barclay did a remarkable job of bringing it back to the condition it was in 50 plus years agon when I first saw it and their rep Lewis went above and beyond in liaising with us on this and other rugs put to them for restoration - highly recommended

Huge thanks to Andrew and Luis, for the cleaning and renovation of four of our Persian rugs, and the repair of an antique Anatolian kilim which was badly moth-damaged. It's impossible to tell where the repairs have been made and it now looks better than when we bought it having also been cleaned. The service was prompt, punctual and very informative (Luis explained that two rugs we bought for £30 at a second-hand shop were of better quality than runners bought for considerably more at John Lewis!). I would highly recommend James Barclay.

From the first contact with James Barclay to the delivery of cleaned rugs, the experience was second to none. Luis’ incredible knowledge of rugs was commendable.Three large rugs and six smaller rugs were returned last Monday and they look amazing. The colour and vibrancy has returned to each and every one. All contact with the company has been very professional. Emails answered immediately and phone calls returned.
